Where the top 2025 prospects from Louisiana signed
In last year’s 2024 recruiting class, nine of the top 10 recruits from the state of Louisiana signed with the home-state LSU Tigers.
That number took a bit of a dip with this year’s 2025 class, but five top-10 Bayou State prospects still signed with the Tigers.
Of the top 10 high school football seniors in Louisiana, all 10 rank inside the top 300 of the On3 Industry Ranking.
Below are where the top 10 prospects from Louisiana in the 2025 cycle signed earlier this month:
1. Jahkeem Stewart — USC
School: New Orleans Edna Karr
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 16 NATL. (No. 3 DL)
Scouting Summary: “Physically-gifted defensive lineman with a high-end combination of twitch and technical ability at an early stage. Has a naturally big frame, measuring in at 6-foot-6, 280 pounds prior to his sophomore season. Has plus length for the position with arms that measure over 34 inches along with 10.75-inch hands. Put his name on the national radar with a number of impressive camp performances as a high school underclassman. Unique scenario and evaluation in that he only played one season of high school football – his true sophomore season in 2023 – due to being ineligible through multiple transfers and then reclassifying to the 2025 cycle. Has an immense amount of ambiguity around his evaluation due to the extreme lack of on-field experience. With that said, looked dominant in his lone year of high school football, totaling 33 tackles for loss and 20 sacks.
“Looked highly dangerous as an interior pass rusher. Flashes advanced technique despite his lack of experience. Uses quick hands to easily disengage. Has a nasty straight arm that he uses to walk offensive linemen back to the quarterback. Capable of playing as a big edge setter. A straight-line athlete. Displays some stiffness in his lower body and will have to improve his flexibility and lateral agility. One of the biggest unknowns in the cycle due to his unique circumstances. If he is able to get on the field and develop, has a chance to tap into the high ceiling.”
2. Harlem Berry — LSU
School: Metairie St. Martin’s Episcopal School
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 17 NATL. (No. 1 RB)
Scouting Summary: “The most electric running back in the 2025 cycle, with the ability to be a game-changer in the passing game. Possesses elite burst and effortless movement skills. Measured in at 5-foot-10, 182 pounds at the On3 Elite Series prior to his senior season. . Transfers his outstanding top end speed onto the field in a functional way. A threat to take it to the house on any touch. A light, springy mover who shifts gears and changes directions at full speed. Displays outstanding vision. Reads blocks and bursts through the line to the second level. The game moves slow for him at the prep level. Runs through contact and shows balance that belies his size. Showcased advanced pass catching skills during the summer prior to his senior season. Has the skill level to legitimately line up at receiver.
“A massive mismatch out of the backfield when covered by linebackers. Registers as a high end athlete with elite speed on the track and in the combine setting. Won state titles in the 100 and 200 meters as a sophomore with times of 10.57 seconds and 21.43 seconds, respectively. Highly productive over his high school career. Rushed for 2,080 yards and 37 touchdowns on 13.2 yards per carry as a junior. Has a smaller frame and will need to continue adding good mass in order to carry a substantial load at the next level. Ceiling as a true every down back will be determined by his ability to put on weight while maintaining his athleticism. Has a later birthday for the cycle, turning 17 years old in late May of his junior year.”
3. Devin Harper — Ole Miss
School: Shreveport Calvary Baptist Academy
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 82 NATL. (No. 5 IOL)
Scout’s Take: “For starters, Devin Harper is extremely physical and playing at a high level as a senior. When you watch his film you see a violent, explosive run blocker. He has plus length, particularly for a guard. Arms over 34″ and a ton of pop in contact. Strong film as a second level blocker, strong in gap scheme and a weapon in the run game. When you look at what he brings to the table physically, his mentality and play standpoint, there’s a lot to like. One of the better prospects in this cycle. His move up was certainly merited. I would project him as a multi-year starter. The type of lineman you want in the trenches in the SEC.”
4. JT Lindsey — LSU
School: Alexandria
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 147 NATL. (No. 9 RB)
Lindsey on signing with LSU: “I’ve been wanting to go to LSU since I was a baby,” he told The Bengal Tiger. “So it was always a dream, so being able to accomplish one of my childhood dreams is a blessing. And even though we lost our quarterback, I still feel like we can be one of the, if not the, best class to come through LSU.”
5. James Simon — Texas
School: Shreveport Calvary Baptist Academy
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 149 NATL. (No. 10 RB)
Simon on his commitment: “They made me feel like a big priority from the second they started recruiting me,” Simon told On3. “It was different. They were real. They talked about everything on and off the field. The coaches were helping me with anything that I needed and giving me advice. They weren’t just treating me like a recruit.”
“They can put you in a great position for life after football because of the connections that are in Austin and the people that surround the program,” he said. “I also like the offense. It’s so explosive and the way they use their running backs is great. The way coach Sarkisian talked to me about how he’s going to use me and how he sees me fitting in the offense, it was something I couldn’t say no to.”

6. Aidan Anding — LSU
School: Ruston
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 185 NATL. (No. 25 CB)
Scout’s Take: “Aidan Anding is a hyper-competitive, athletic corner with outstanding ball skills. He’s playing great as a senior and was a clear stock-up prospect at corner when going through the group nationally. He plays fast and has exceptional instincts both as a cover corner and run defender.
“Anding is a fantastic addition to LSU’s corner class and room, and I’d expect him to make an impact along with the rest of the great haul that Corey Raymond is bringing in at the position.
7. Jaboree Antoine — Miami
School: New Iberia Westgate
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 211 NATL. (No. 30 CB)
Scouting Summary: “Long-bodied versatile defensive back prospect with tremendous cover skills and ability to break up passes at the catch point. Measured in at 6-foot-2, 170 pounds during summer campus visits. Smooth in his back pedal and transitions.
“Very comfortable in man coverage, sticky defender. Excellent field vision and ability to break to the football once the quarterback pulls the trigger. Unverified long speed but is a smooth mover with twitch that can play as a center field safety. Also displays impressive movement skills when playing quarterback for his high school team as well. Willing tackler when working downhill but not overly violent. Verified top-end speed could assist in determining his ceiling but has an extremely high floor regardless.”
8. Jacob Washington — Michigan
School: New Orleans Archbishop Shaw
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 213 NATL. (No. 25 WR)
Washington on signing with Michigan: “The offense is definitely a powerhouse. Everything the team does from the wide receivers to the running backs to the tight ends to the quarterbacks to the offensive line moves in one smooth wheel.”
9. TaRon Francis — LSU
School: New Orleans Edna Karr
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 225 NATL. (No. 28 WR)
Scout’s Take: “TaRon Francis is an interesting prospect. There’s not a very large sample size on him at this point, but he’s advanced physically. He’s got good size. Moves well. Has the nickname ManChild and when you watch him play, that’s an apt nickname. Strong after the catch, physically advanced.”
10. Jacob Bradford — LSU
School: Baton Rouge Catholic
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 294 NATL. (No. 20 S)
Bradford on his final visit to LSU: “LSU did an outstanding job hosting the Louisiana recruits during their official visit. All the young men were familiar with one another, and the families had strong connections as well. It’s incredible to see how much elite talent is concentrated in one state.”
