Where the top 2026 quarterbacks are committed
Attention will soon fully turn toward the 2026 recruiting cycle. When it comes to the top soon-to-be senior quarterbacks in the nation, however, many have already committed to a college program.
As of Jan. 4, 13 of the top 25 QBs in the 2026 class — per the On3 Industry Ranking — are already off the board. That includes seven of the top 10.
Below are where the top QBs in the 2026 cycle are currently committed, as well as who’s currently trending for the best uncommitted gunslingers:
1. Jared Curtis
School: Nashville Christian
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 4 NATL.
The Skinny: Curtis decommitted from Georgia in October, reopening his process. He’s since visited the likes of Auburn, Alabama, Ole Miss and Oregon. Ohio State, South Carolina, USC and Georgia are others that remain on his short list heading into 2025. Oregon was named a leader during the fall.
2. Faizon Brandon — Tennessee
School: Greensboro (N.C.) Grimsley
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 6 NATL.
Brandon on his commitment: “I started feeling Tennessee a while ago,” Brandon told On3. “They started recruiting me early, and the first impression they made on me was unlike any other. The staff recruited me hard from the get-go, they kept it steady with me and they pushed so hard to get me. All of that made an impact on why I picked them.”
“It just felt like home. From the beginning, I liked it a lot at Tennessee. I kept going back and it felt like home from the start. I think I have visited six or seven times now, and I kept getting that good feeling every time I was there.”
3. Ryder Lyons
School: Folsom (Calif.)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 10 NATL.
The Skinny: Lyons continues to trend to USC in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine following picks from On3’s Chad Simmons, Steve Wiltfong and Max Torres this fall. The 6-foot-2 signal-caller took multiple game visits to Los Angeles this fall and has seen the Trojans more than any other team throughout his process.
4. Dia Bell — Texas
School: Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 13 NATL.
Bell on his commitment: “I really enjoyed my visits and have developed great relationships with Coach Sark and Milwee,” Bell told On3. “They are one of the best offenses in the country and have a track record of development at my position. I’m really excited about their move to the SEC and the opportunity to help bring a championship to the 40 acres.”
5. Brady Smigiel — Florida State
School: Newbury Park (Calif.)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 48 NATL.
Smigiel on his commitment: “Relationships made FSU right for me,” Smigiel told On3. “The way these coaches take care of the players is like nothing I’ve seen before … Tallahassee is a special place. It’s a town that really cares about the University and everyone loves to win … Being able to take my whole family out here and having everyone love it is all I needed to see. This place is special.”
6. Jonas Williams — Oregon
School: Frankfort Heights (Ill.) Lincoln-Way East
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 85 NATL.

Williams on his commitment: “Oregon has been my dream school for awhile,” Williams told On3. “A lot of people talk highly of Oregon and it definitely lived up to that standard. When I got there I really liked Coach (Will) Stein and how he teaches. That’s really important. I’m going to spend a lot of time with him the next four years of my life.”
“I really like Coach (Dan) Lanning. He’s one of the most humble head coaches I’ve met. The whole coaching staff has a sense of integrity to them. I feel comfortable with them and can trust them.”
7. Jaden O’Neal — Oklahoma
School: Long Beach (Calif.) Narbonne
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 104 NATL.
O’Neal on his commitment: “They have a strong tradition of developing quarterbacks,” O’Neal told On3. “That was the No. 1 reason I chose Oklahoma because I want to make it to the next level and I feel like OU can get me to the next level. The second reason why is the supportive staff that coach Brent Venables has around him. They’re very real and authentic coaches. The fanbase loves me. At the end of the day, you want to go to a place that fits you and loves you. I feel like the fans and the people around the community love me there.”
8. Helaman Casuga — Texas A&M
School: Provo (Utah) Corner Canyon
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 119
Casuga on his commitment: “I believe that they’re building something special down there,” Casuga told On3. “Obviously I want to be part of the (Mike) Elko era. He’s done so many great things at Duke and now he’s showing he’s capable of doing it at a SEC school … Coach (Collin) Klein has been in my shoes. He was a great quarterback when he played. I think he gets it and understands what a college quarterback is doing and going through. I feel I can relate to him.”
9. Jake Fette — Arizona State
School: El Paso (Texas) Del Valle
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 120 NATL.
Scout’s Take: “Jake Fette is a dynamic playmaker at quarterback. One of the better athletes at QB in the 2026 cycle that we’ve seen thus far,” On3’s Charles Power said. “A guy who’s very explosive with the ball in his hands and is off to a strong start in his junior year. Had a game recently where he threw eight touchdowns in the first half, so he’s playing really well.
“A true dual-threat and a fluid athlete with a good arm. We were high on him coming out of his sophomore year and when we’ve looked at how he’s played to this point as a junior, we felt like his high ranking was merited at this point,” Power said. “A guy who’s floated a little under the radar to this point, from El Paso, a city that’s not loaded with typical blue-chip prospects. What we’ve seen from Fette this far, the overall athleticism and playmaking, has been very encouraging.”
10. Landon Duckworth
School: Jackson (Ala.)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 130 NATL.
The Skinny: Duckworth backed off a commitment to South Carolina in June and has kept a lowkey recruitment since. He visited UCF during the season and led his high school to an Alabama 4A state title last month, throwing for 325 yards and five touchdowns in the final game of his junior campaign.
