The Early Signing Period starts on November 8th and will run through November 15th. As of the morning of November 9th, 27 of the 150 players in the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking have yet to make a commitment.
Things can happen very quickly in the basketball recruiting world, especially as we come down the homestretch of a top prospect’s decision. Let’s go through the 15 uncommitted players ranked among the top 100 and discuss whether or not they are expected to sign during the early or late signing period.
The Latest Recruiting Intel Heading into the Early Signing Period
Verbally committing to a school does not bind a player to that school. When signing with a program players are to sign two documents. The National Letter of Intent and a financial aid package. The National Letter of Intent is the document that binds the player to the school. This can only happen during the two signing periods. The financial aid package does not bind the player to the school. A player can still de-commit if they only sign the financial aid package, or if they only verbally commit. The expectation of signing also does not mean a player does sign or will sign. Signing periods can be tricky.
The Late Signing Period runs from April 17 to May 15.
Make sure to stay tuned to On3 as we continue to bring the latest recruiting intel and breaking news through the Early Signing Period, and beyond.
