Live Updates: Williams Nwaneri Commitment Ceremony
Commitment day has finally arrived for one of the nation’s elite recruits, Five-Star Plus+ defensive lineman Williams Nwaneri out of Lee’s Summit (Mo.) North.
Nwaneri, the No. 1 overall recruit in the On300 rankings and No. 3 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking, is set to choose between Oregon, Tennessee, Missouri, Oklahoma and Georgia a little before 4 p.m. CT at his school.
Earlier this spring, the Vols, Sooners and Bulldogs looked to be the three teams in pole position to land the country’s top defensive linemen, but things have shifted over the summer. His choice is now expected to come down to the Sooners, Bulldogs and and the in-state Tigers. Missouri was one of the first programs to offer Nwaneri, and the opportunities on and off the field if he stays home are enticing. The Tigers hold a significant lead in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) ahead of his decision.
On3’s Hunter Shelton is on-site in Kansas City and providing live updates as Nwaneri makes his announcement.
