DraftKings has released its win total odds for Big 12 teams ahead of the 2023 season, and the sportsbook expects one team in particular to make a big jump.

After finishing 6-7 (3-6) in 2022, DraftKings has the Oklahoma over-under at 9.5 games for the upcoming season. OU is entering Year 2 under Brent Venables.

The Sooners are tied for the highest win total number in the Big 12 with Texas, which is also at 9.5.

Kansas State won the Big 12 last season, defeating TCU in the conference championship game. The Wildcats have the third-highest over-under at 8.5

TCU is tied for the fourth-highest at 7.5 games. The Horned Frogs lost offensive coordinator Garrett Riley and Heisman finalist Max Duggan off of last year’s team.

Here is the full list of win total odds for Big 12 teams:

The sportsbook has Iowa State and West Virginia with the lowest win total. They also were the worst two teams in the Big 12 last year.

West Virginia finished 5-7 (3-6) in 2022, while Iowa State was 4-8 (1-8).

Greg McElroy stresses importance of Big 12 teams beating Oklahoma, Texas in 2023

The 2023 season is the final year the Big 12 will be constructed as it currently is. Both Oklahoma and Texas are set to join the SEC, beginning in 2024.

Any Big 12 team that can take down Oklahoma or Texas (or both) in 2023 is going to have bragging rights over the two major football brands for a long time.

College football analyst Greg McElroy explained the importance of what wins over the two storied programs can do for the Big 12 as they look to move on from the two most successful programs in the conference’s history.

Of course, if Oklahoma or Texas can end up making the Big 12 Championship game, it will be no secret who some of the suits inside the conference will be rooting for.

“Do you think Brett Yormark will be real fired up about handing the Big 12 Championship trophy to a team that is going to be leaving the league here in 2024?” McElroy asked. “No, sir. No chance whatsoever. … Anyone that is playing against Texas or Oklahoma in the Big 12 title game, you better carry the torch for the conference.”
