Winters Grady, a four-star small forward in the 2025 class, has cut his list to nine schools: Arizona State, Colorado, Creighton, Iowa, Michigan, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, and USC.

The 6-foot-6 rising senior out of Prolific Prep (CA) has taken only unofficial visits to USC and Oregon to this point. However, he’s scheduled the following six official visits:

  • New Mexico: August 22nd
  • Michigan: August 29th
  • Iowa: September 7th
  • Colorado: September 11
  • Oklahoma: September 21st
  • Oregon: October 12th

According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Grady is the No. 66 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle. He’s also the No. 15 small forward prospect. The On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Grady talks programs involved

In a previous interview with On3’s Jamie Shaw, Winters Grady discussed several of the programs involved in his recruitment.

OKLAHOMA: “I really like Coach (Porter) Moser. My dad and I both really like him. He’s a basketball mind. We sat on our last Zoom call for about 30 minutes after it ended just talking basketball. That was a great thing to see because I’m a basketball junkie too. I just love watching it and playing it, it’s kind of my whole life. So seeing someone else like that, knowing they are as invested as I am and do things like I do, is good to see.

“Coach Moser sees me as a three-level scorer and that my game is really translatable to college and beyond. He thinks I fit well in their freestyle type of system.”

OREGON: “Things are good there now. They’ve definitely picked up their recruitment here recently. We haven’t discussed too deep into a lot of things. I know they think I can score the ball and they kind of view me as more of a shooter, but someone who can score the ball. A lot of the high-major players from Oregon typically go to Oregon, but I wouldn’t say there is pressure for me. I played at Prolific this past season, so I’m not full-time Oregon anymore.

“I work out with guys like Mookie CookJackson Shelstad, and Payton Pritchard in the summer. So I have a well-established relationship with them.”

NEW MEXICO: “They have been on me for a long time, they talk to me about being a culture changer for the program. They mention Gonzaga a lot and how they did it as a mid-major. Getting one player in kind of changed their recruiting and since then they have been getting top 50, top 100-type players and made deep tournament runs. They view me as that type of player. Someone who could come in and change the program’s culture like that.

“They like to play freely and lets their guards go, maybe more than anyone. He views me as a big guard and he likes my IQ for the game. I believe my visit there is August 24, it is two days after the period opens up.”

MICHIGAN: “Michigan is a newer school for me. Coach (Justin) Joyner was on me at Saint Mary’s and that relationship kind of transitioned over. Coach Joyner views me as a three-level scorer and someone who can score the ball really well. I think they’re a program where I can come in and be a shooter and fill in that type of role. I like them a lot.”
