Wisconsin, Arizona announce home-and-home basketball series set to begin this upcoming season
The Wisconsin Badgers and Arizona Wildcats have announced a home-and-home series that will begin this upcoming season.
The first of the two games will take place in Tucson, Arizona on December 9, 2023, with the second taking place in Madison on November 15, 2024.
Accompanying the press release announcing the games was a statement from Wisconsin head coach Greg Gard, who’s “really excited” to face off against a team the caliber of the Wildcats.
“We’re really excited to get this great home-and-home series with Arizona,” Gard said. “We’ve had some memorable matchups in recent years with the Wildcats, and we’re looking forward to adding on to what has been a great series.
“Part of what makes college basketball so great is having big-time games in on-campus venues and I love that we can schedule these for the fans in Tucson and Madison. We’ve always tried to challenge our team in the non-conference and facing a program like Arizona will certainly help prepare us for the rigorous Big Ten.”
Alas, there should be two fantastic showdowns over two seasons between Wisconsin and Arizona. It’ll certainly be a hot ticket for both fanbases.

Moreover, Arizona isn’t the only big time program the Wisconsin Badgers will face in a home-and-home series beginning in 2023.

Two of the best defensive programs in the country just announced a game against one another for the 2023-24 college basketball season earlier this offseason. Wisconsin revealed that the Badgers will host the Tennessee Volunteers during the first week of the season.
The game was originally supposed to take place a couple years back but was postponed due to COVID, and it’s now back on.
Here was the announcement from earlier this offseason, and details from Wisconsin’s website:
“The Wisconsin men’s basketball team announced on Thursday that it will host Tennessee for a non-conference game at the Kohl Center this upcoming season on November 10, 2023.
“The matchup is part of a home-and-home series that the Badgers and Volunteers agreed to back in 2019. UW traveled to Knoxville during the 2019-20 season, earning a 68-48 win at Thompson-Boling Arena. Wisconsin was originally scheduled to host Tennessee the following season, but was unable to due to complications from the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020-21.”
There you have it. Badger vs. Vols on Nov. 10 in a game that will be lucky to crack 100 total points.
