Wisconsin offers Yale wideout commit Christopher Brooks
Wisconsin is hoping the adage “better late than never” proves to be fruitful in regards to its pursuit of Christopher Brooks Jr.
The Badgers have extended an offer to Brooks, a 6-foot-3 wide receiver out of Saint Louis (Mo.) St. Louis University. He has been committed to Yale since July.
Brooks spent most of the first two seasons of his high school career injured, playing only three games. He then played in four games in 2020 due to the pandemic.
But Brooks broke out this past season for Saint Louis (Mo.) St. Louis University. He snagged 49 catches for 959 yards and 21 touchdowns, earning conference co-offensive player of the year award and all-state first team honors.
Christopher Brooks Jr. is the son of Chris Brooks, who played for Nebraska in the late 2000s and had a cup of coffee in the NFL.

Brooks chose the Bulldogs, where he plans on majoring in architectural engineering, in July over offers from a plethora of schools, including Ball State, Brown, Buffalo, Columbia, Illinois State, Miami-Ohio, Penn and South Dakota State.
“I’ve been playing the game since I was 6 and not one time did I think I’d go to Yale,” Brooks told STLtoday.com in August. “When Yale offered (my family and I) kind of went crazy. That’s not something that happens every day.”
But Wisconsin is his first Power Five offer.
The Badgers have only one commitment from a wide receiver at the moment: Louisville (Ky.) Louisville Male three-star prospect Vinny Anthony.
Anthony is the No. 764 overall player in the nation, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 5 player from the state of Kentucky.
Christopher Brooks Jr. is unranked in the On3 Consensus.
