Former Wisconsin forward Xavier Amos has committed to Loyola Chicago, via the NCAA Transfer Portal, per On3’s Pete Nakos. Amos entered the portal on April 7.

Amos only played one season at Wisconsin after spending his first two collegiate seasons at Northern Illinois. Amos made 37 appearances for the Badgers this season. He averaged 3.5 points and 1.8 rebounds in 9.7 minutes per game while shooting 37.4% from the field and 29.4% from beyond the arc.

Amos had his best performance of the season in Wisconsin’s blowout win over Washington on Feb. 25. In the triumph, Amos scored a season-high 12 points on 4-5 shooting from the floor.

Amos had a much better campaign in the 2023-24 season at NIU. The 6-foot-7 forward averaged career-highs of 13.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. He shot 49.6% from the field and 38.5% from downtown. He was ranked as the No. 31 overall power forward in the transfer portal this offseason.

Xavier Amos played high school basketball at Whitney Young (IL), where he was an unranked prospect, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Amos was named to the Chicago Sun-Times All-State First Team.

He was the fourth Wisconsin player to enter the transfer portal this offseason. Alas, the Badgers haven’t wasted any time replacing their losses. Wisconsin has added three players via the transfer portal this offseason and have the No. 2 transfer class in the country, according to On3’s 2025 Team Transfer Portal Rankings.

Perhaps most notably, Wisconsin reeled in Virginia transfer Andrew Rohde. He spent two seasons with the Cavaliers, making 63 appearances and 53 starts. He averaged 9.3 points, 2.9 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 31.0 minutes per game this season while shooting 43.2% from the field and 41.3% from beyond the arc.

Rohde had arguably his best showing of the season in Virginia’s loss to Duke on Feb. 17. In the loss, Rohde tallied a team-high 15 points, five rebounds and five assists on 5-10 shooting from the floor.

Andrew Rohde was the No. 92 overall player and No. 14 small forward available in the transfer portal, according to On3’s Transfer Portal Player Rankings. With a revamped roster, Wisconsin head coach Greg Gard will look to take the program to new heights next season.
