As the anticipation grows for the Women’s Final Four, so does the get-in price. The average ticket prices for Friday’s games continue to soar, according to TicketIQ.

The average get-in price for Friday’s national semifinals in Cleveland is $479, TicketIQ said, and the average resale price is $1,556 – more than double last year’s Women’s Final Four in Dallas. For comparison, those numbers are $456 and $1,422, respectively, for the Men’s Final Four in Arizona.

The first game of the night will feature No. 1 seed South Carolina – the only remaining undefeated college basketball team – against No. 3 seed NC State. The headliner awaits after that, though, as Caitlin Clark and Iowa take on Paige Bueckers and UConn.

Women’s basketball popularity has soared this season, fueled by Clark as she became Division I’s all-time leading scorer. Iowa games set multiple viewership records, and Monday’s Elite Eight matchup against LSU became the most-watched college basketball game in ESPN history with an average of 12.3 million people watching.

But it’s not just the Hawkeyes drawing eyes. The game in the late slate that night – UConn vs. USC – drew an average of 6.7 million viewers as the Huskies defeated the Trojans to set up a date with Iowa. In the process, two of the sports biggest names will go head-to-head as Bueckers goes up against Clark with a spot in the national championship on the line.

But as two of the highest-profile athletes in the sport, both Bueckers and Clark agree there are plenty of up-and-coming stars who deserve time in the spotlight.

“Media coverage is important for the game. I think it grows the game,” Bueckers said. “I know freshman year I was like the media darling. Everybody was focused on me and what I did at UConn my freshman year.

“But, I think it’s more important for the game to share the spotlight to grow the game and show all the stars of college basketball and not just focus on one particular player, whether it be me, Caitlin, JuJu [Watkins]Angel [Reese]. There’s so many names in college basketball now that are huge, that are stars that deserve credit.”

As for how people are talking about UConn vs. Iowa, Clark kept her thoughts simple.

“It’s not Paige versus Caitlin, and it takes the entire team to win a basketball game,” Clark said. “Both of us are going to do everything we can.”
