Charlotte (N.C.) Myers Park wide receiver Brody Keefe has committed to Duke. After visiting Durham over the weekend on an official visit, the Blue Devils ascended up his list and Manny Diaz has landed a playmaker from his home state.

”Duke has been in it since the beginning,” Keefe told On3. “Coach Elko offered me a while ago and when the new staff came in, they got me up to Durham right away.

“I’ve been up to Durham three times and then my official visit made it four. This past weekend just confirmed what I already knew. You can’t beat a Duke education and the academic stats plus the opportunity to play in this offense with the talent here.

Really the official visit gave me the chance to be around the guys and that locked me in. These are guys I would go to work for every day no doubt.”

Almost three dozen schools offered Keefe. He had his eye on schools like Florida, Georgia, Ohio State and others along the way. Why did he pick the Blue Devils?

“I think the biggest draw is the culture.
Coach Diaz and his staff are authentic. And you see that throughout the program. When you look at the transfer rate, the team GPA, the growth in the weight room, is only good things. And then add in how they use a guy like me. I’ll develop here no doubt.”

The decision is final for the No. 26 prospect in North Carolina. He’s ready to compete in Durham.

“I’m ready to get to work,” Keefe said. “I can’t wait to get in with coach Feeley and show what I can do on and off the field next spring. I’ve been working for this since I was in 4th grade.”
