Cameron Sparks of Chattanooga (Tenn.) Baylor School has been a name to know since his freshman season. National programs have recruited the 6-foot-3, 210-pound wide receiver, he has taken visits to schools across the country and he is now ready to announce his decision.

Not only will he announce his commitment on Jan. 11 in San Antonio at the Nave All-American Bowl, but he will sign financial agreement papers with that school and enroll days after the game in the Alamo Dome.

“I am ready,” Sparks told On3. “I will announce my decision between Arkansas, Mississippi State and Virginia Tech at the All-American Bowl. I started thinking about this toward the end of November and early in December, so I am ready.”

His mind is made up, so what has given the Razorbacks, Bulldogs or Hokies the advantage in the end?

“It came down to comfortability for both me and my parents. The coaches at this school have made me and my parents feel comfortable. That and the chance to compete early for time on the field were big factors.”

The recruiting process has been ongoing for the No. 18 prospect in Tennessee for around three years. He has been through it all and he is ready to wrap things up.

“The process has been fun,” Sparks said. “It has been rocky at times. There were some highs and lows, but I am blessed to be in this position. I am excited to announce my decision at halftime of this game.”

Sparks talks Arkansas, Mississippi State and Virginia Tech

Arkansas: “It is an SEC school that came in late, but they have been on me heavy all season. It is an SEC school with a great staff and I feel I could thrive in the offense at Arkansas.”

Mississippi State: “Since the summer, Mississippi State has recruited me hard. All season, they were on me. They like my film a lot, they feel I could make an impact early hard my senior season. Starkville is a great town too.”

Virginia Tech: “It is a family-based atmosphere. That is because of the staff. They are great people and my family connects with them. They were on me hard, they came back strong late in the season and I like their staff and how it feels in Blacksburg.”
