2027 4-star EDGE Zane Rowe decommits from Oklahoma
Little Elm (Texas) Guyer four-star EDGE Zane Rowe, a Class of 2027 prospect, has decommitted from Oklahoma, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
The 6-foot-3.5, 220-pounder was pledged to the Sooners since April 20 and was the lone 2027 prospect committed to head coach Brent Venables and the Sooners.
He is the No. 49 overall prospect and No. 8 EDGE in the cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 7 sophomore in Texas.
“What sold me was their passion and care for their players on the field and off the field. They are very family oriented and I’m a big family guy,” Rowe told Sooner Scoop after committing to Oklahoma last year. “They have a great support system from their fans. And I love the OU culture.”
As a sophomore for Guyer, Rowe tallied 75 total tackles and nine sacks, according to MaxPreps. The Wildcats finished with a 10-4 record this season and rank as the No. 24 team in the Lone Star State, per the On3 Composite Rankings.

Rowe was high school teammates with former Sooners quarterback commit Kevin Sperry. The signal-caller flipped from OU to Florida State late in the process and has since signed with the Seminoles.
“(FSU) told me they want me to be the quarterback of this class,” Sperry told Warchant after flipping in November. “I felt like I fit in perfectly with their offense and what they want from their quarterbacks. I always had a high respect for them, even going into my decision to choose Oklahoma. They were in my top three.”
Oklahoma signed the No. 16 recruiting class in the nation last month, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. The Sooners’ 2026 class currently features three commits, headlined by Long Beach (Calif.) Narbonne four-star quarterback Jaden O’Neal, the No. 7 QB in the junior cycle.
