'24 Zion Pipkin has two programs standing out

Zion Pipkin is the 2024 On3 Consensus No. 73 player. The 6-foot-1 point guard averaged 15.3 points on 50.6 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from three this summer.
“I really want to win,” Pipkin told On3. “This summer, I improved playing off other people and making decisions in the paint. I watch a lot of Ja Morant, the way he comes off ball screens.”
After Pipkin’s Cooz Elite program won the UAA Next Circuit 16u Rise championship, he decided to transfer to Mouth of Wilson (VA) Oak Hill Academy this summer. On3 caught up with Zion Pipkin at a recent open gym to talk recruitment.
“Of the schools who have offered, I would say I hear the most from Texas Tech and LSU,” Pipkin said.

Texas Tech: “They’re not too far from home, about seven or eight hours. They like to play defense, they compete, and like to win.

LSU: “They like to compete to win. They tell me they like I can shoot the ball and create for people. The coaches told me they like how I defend. I took an unofficial visit there and saw they had a real live tiger on campus; that’s crazy.”
“I’m hearing a lot from Auburn and Colorado, and neither of them has offered yet,” Pipkins said.
In Pipkin’s words
“I want to go to a school that wants to win,” Pipkins said. “I want to play for a dog-like coach that will push me to be the best I can be. I’ll want to play for a coach who plays defense. The offense will come wherever I go.
