APRIL 13, 2023 UPDATE: The Anchor Collective announced it was merging with The Anchor Impact Fund to consolidate NIL activities in the Vanderbilt marketplace. PREVIOUS INFORMATION: The Anchor Collective launched in November 2022 with the full support of the Vanderbilt administration. The Anchor Collective says its main focus will be football, but baseball and men’s and women’s basketball are also an “immediate priority.” With a mission of facilitating competitive financial, educational and professional NIL opportunities for Vanderbilt athletes, the Anchor Collective has opted to register as an independent, limited liability corporation. The Commodores’ new collective plans to also establish a subscription model, which will allow fans to engage with athletes, receive exclusive content and merchandise. “The Anchor Collective represents another resource at our student-athletes’ disposal, which is important as the landscape of college athletics continues to evolve,” athletic director Candice Lee said when the collective was announced.
