Northern Illinois University announced the launch of Boneyard Victor E. in conjunction with the launch of its school-specific Opendorse marketplace on Dec. 15, 2022. The company Student Athlete NIL (SANIL), which powers roughly 20 NIL collectives nationally, backs Boneyard Victor E. Similar to other collectives, Boneyard Victor E. allows contributors to make a one-time donation or to join through one of six monthly membership levels. Northern Illinois athletic director Sean Frazier and women's basketball coach Lisa Carlsen each promoted the collective in the university's press release. "The NIL Boneyard Victor E. Collective is a great example of Huskies who enjoyed their recruiting process, loved their experience at NIU and still have strong feelings of pride for the institution," Carlsen said in a statement. "This is a difference maker for our student-athletes as hopefully they experience the same points of pride during their time here. We couldn't be more excited for what this will mean for student-athletes now and in the future." Boneyard Victor E.'s website says 85 to 90 percent of contributions go to Northern Illinois athletes.
