JANUARY 10, 2023 UPDATE: It does not appear that Friends of Smokey ever got off the ground with the emergence of other more successful collectives at Tennessee. PREVIOUS INFORMATION: Friends of Smokey is a soon-to-be-announced Tennessee Volunteers-focused collective that first started out as Friends of BaseVols. Not many details are available, but Friends of Smokey is partnered with Blueprint Sports. Other Blueprint Sports partners have the company seek out NIL deals for student-athletes and the company keeps a percentage of that. The collectives also operate through crowdfunding by collecting and distributing money through NIL deals with student-athletes.
