ICON Collective - Illinois Fighting Illini Collective

The University of Illinois' Division of Intercollegiate Athletics announced the public launch of ICON Collective on March 2, 2023, one day after the collective announced its launch on Twitter. Notably, the athletic department also announced the value of the name, image and likeness agreements ICON Collective had facilitated in its first few months of operation: more than $1.5 million. Former Illinois swimmer and athletic department development officer Kathleen Knight is the president and CEO of ICON Collective. Illinois announced ICON Collective filed for 501(c)(3) status and that the collective expects to hear back from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in the summer of 2023. Knight formed ICON Collective, Inc., in November 2022. The Illinois Secretary of State's website lists ICON Collective as a not-for-profit corporation. Former Illinois director of golf operations Jackie Szymoniak serves as ICON Collective's COO.
