Turtle NIL - Maryland Terrapins Collective
Turtle NIL was formed in August 2022 with the plan to create a way to generate NIL funds to compete with the top powers in college basketball. Harry Geller, a Maryland alum that has founded more than a dozen multi-million-dollar companies, stepped in to fill that void with Turtle NIL. After much anticipation, the collective launched its impressive-looking website, announcing deals with nine Terp men’s basketball players. Geller brought on Alex O'Neill, a former Maryland basketball manager, to run the daily operations. The collectives aims to facilitate NIL partnerships with brands and organizations. It has since launched a subscription club, providing fans exclusive content while raising funds for Maryland basketball athletes. The focus remains on basketball, but Geller previously said the model could be duplicated with other programs.
