Ty Simpson will be riding around Tuscaloosa in a new truck this fall.

The Alabama quarterback and former five-star recruit has inked a multi-year NIL deal Harbin Automotive. As part of the agreement, Simpson will appear at meet and greets and post on social media for Harbin Automotive. He could be featured in future advertising campaigns, too.

Repped by QB Reps, Simpson will receive a new Ford or Chevrolet truck every several months in exchange for his work promoting Harbin. To start the NIL partnership the quarterback will be driving a new 2024 Chevy Silverado.

“As fourth-generation business owners, character and integrity have been the building blocks of our 85-year-old family business,” said Win Harbin, owner of Harbin Automotive. “When NIL partnerships became an opportunity, those two things were non-negotiable for us. Ty embodies these qualities and more and we are excited to partner with him for the upcoming season and years to come.”

The No. 2 quarterback in the 2022 class competed with Jalen Milroe over the past two offseasons and was taking second-team reps this spring. Simpson completed 60% of his passes for 214 yards in 2023. He finished A-Day 12 for 102 yards with a handful of impressive throws.

“I am just so grateful to everyone at Harbin and truly consider them to be part of my team,” Simpson told On3 in a statement. “I love my truck and am proud to have Harbin as a partner.”

QB Reps also works with Notre Dame’s Riley Leonard and Ole Miss’ Walker Howard. The agency also repped Bo Nix during his time at Oregon and now in the NFL.

Ty Simpson’s On3 NIL Valuation

Ty Simpson’s NIL agreement with Harbin Automotive is just his latest deal. He previously signed with Amazon Prime and promoted EA College Football 25, which releases this week. The quarterback also worked extensively with the Yea Alabama NIL collective.

With more than 43,000 social media followers, the quarterback is poised to continue capitalizing on his NIL brand. He holds an On3 NIL Valuation of $666,000. The valuation is No. 60 in the On3 NIL 100, the first of its kind and defacto NIL ranking of the top 100 high school and college athletes ranked by their On3 NIL Valuation.

Simpson’s valuation is in the top 40 of the college football NIL rankings.

“Despite what some fans and media believe, there is not an unlimited amount of money being deployed to manage rosters,” said Shannon Terry, the founder and CEO of On3. “Any model – whether it’s today’s broken NCAA ‘student-athlete’ construct or media rights sharing through employment, which is almost a certainty in the near future – demands efficiency based on the athlete and school knowing the athlete’s respective market value.”

The On3 NIL Valuation is calculated by combining Roster Value and personal NIL. Roster value is the value an athlete has by being a member of his or her team at his or her school, which factors into the role of NIL collectives. NIL in an athlete’s name, image and likeness and the value it could bring to regional and national brands outside of the scope of NIL collectives.
