Tennessee's Volunteer Club launches campaign to support Bru McCoy
Bru McCoy was carted off the field in the second quarter of Saturday night’s game against South Carolina. On Sunday, Tennessee announced the wide receiver had undergone a successful surgery after suffering a fracture-dislocation of his right ankle.
Now Volunteers can show their support for McCoy through NIL.
The Volunteer Club, the official NIL collective of Tennessee athletics, announced plans Monday afternoon for an autograph print campaign. Fans can purchase an 8×10 autograph print of McCoy, with 80% of sales going back to the wide receiver. Fans are able to determine the price for the autograph, with a minimum price of $40.
It’s a smart way for fans to support Tennessee’s NIL program while benefitting the receiver. On top of the NIL portion of the activation, anyone who wants to pass along words of encouragement to Bru McCoy can send a message to [email protected].
The campaign is similar to what The Volunteer Club, which is run by Spyre Sports Group, did with Jalin Hyatt a year ago. After his breakout game against Alabama, the receiver signed with the collective and received all new memberships he drove to the club in the first month.
A former five-star recruit, McCoy transferred from USC to Tennessee in May 2022. In Year 1 in Knoxville, he finished with 52 catches for 667 yards and four touchdowns. Expected to be Joe Milton’s top target this season, he’s tallied 17 receptions for 217 yards and a touchdown in five games.

Mizzou coach sounded off
“That’s a tough moment when you know that one of your brothers has had a tough injury, and getting carted off like that,” Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel said following the win over South Carolina. “Emotionally, for those guys, being able to get in control of your emotions on the back end of it, to be able to reset. Bru said he wanted those guys to be able to go play their you-know-what off and win the freaking ball game too. So, I relayed that message.”
“It shows maturity from those guys that no matter what’s going on, being able to reset and refocus and go compete hard.”
McCoy, who is repped by Athletes First, has been using NIL for good this season, too. Every time he scored a touchdown this season, McCoy’s “Huddle for Hearts” NIL initiative saw an automatic external defibrillator (AED) donated to an underserved community.
He also has one of the most coveted partnerships in Knoxville, signing with Moonshine Mountain Cookie Co. as its cookie monster this offseason. As part of the agreement, for every game he catches two touchdown passes, Moonshine Mountain Cookie Company will give away two free cookies.
