Cincinnati will officially join the Big 12 Conference on July 1, along with BYU, Houston and UCF.
“He’s going to have his work cut out for him as we jump up to the Big 12 but I feel like he’s got the team around him with folks that appear to be pretty dialed in and in alignment,” Fox said. “You use that word alignment. I think that matters. I get the sense that the guys that work for Scott really love working for him.”
In March, Cincy Reigns announced the Let’s Reign Campaign, which established a goal of attaining 7,000 donors by July 1 who will each commit to donating $350 to the collective.
“We’re really delighted by the reception we received,” Fox said. “We continue to try to recalibrate and refocus our energies around that and get people signed on. But we’ve had such a supportive early push that that helped I think get us out of the gates right. Then leading up to joining the Big 12 we’ve got another push that we’re about to undertake and it’s gonna coincide with the launch of Cincy Light on June 30, the day before.”
