Thanks to NIL, Tommy Brown is making the most out of his viral moment.

Brown, a graduate student offensive lineman for the Colorado Buffaloes, generated headlines in August when his underwear photo shoot for a NIL deal for Shinesty went viral. Now he’s piggybacking that deal with an updated agreement with Shinesty that aims to make him college football’s first professional underwear supermodel.

And like with the previous photo shoot, the new images from Shinesty are just as glorious.

At 6-foot-7 and 320 pounds, nobody would have ever fathomed an offensive tackle becoming an underwear model. But Brown says he – and Shinesty – are anything but typical.

“When you have a body this good, you deserve to be paid,” Brown said in a news release from Shinesty shared with On3. “As a college football player, I’m already used to millions of people seeing me in pants that leave nothing to the imagination. Might as well make some money while I’m at it.”

The terms of the agreement were not released. But Shinesty said in the release it signed Brown for an undisclosed amount of cash. They called it “a big heapin’ pile.”

“Well, it wasn’t really my dream,” Brown said of the deal. “But I’m sure someone dreamt of modeling underwear for a company, and now their dream has come true for me.”

Shinesty’s creative director Ben Lauderdale said the decision to pick Brown for the campaign was easy.

“On the field, Tommy protects the quarterback from sacks. Off the field, Tommy protects his own sack with Shinesty’s Ball Hammock® Pouch Underwear,” Lauderdale said in the release.

Brown said Shinesty’s new “high fashion campaign” recreates the industry’s most iconic print and video advertisements. He described the campaign as a Calvin Klein ad, but with a “better-looking dude wearing underwear that’s actually comfortable.”
