DJ Lagway, Cam Ward release trading cards benefiting Hurricane Milton relief
Florida quarterback DJ Lagway and Miami quarterback Cam Ward met on the football field earlier this season. Now the rivals are using their NIL platforms to give back to The Sunshine State in a time of need.
Lagway and Ward released Hurricane Milton Relief trading cards with Leaf on Thursday, with all the proceeds going to the Florida Disaster Fund. The cards are priced at $9.99 and are on sale through Oct. 17.
Hurricane Milton made landfall in Florida late Wednesday night, leaving more than 3 million without power. The storm dumped up to 18 inches of rain in some areas of Florida.
A former Incarnate Word and Washington State transfer, Ward arrived at Miami this offseason and has emerged as a favorite for the Heisman Trophy. Through six games the quarterback has thrown for 2,219 yards with 20 touchdowns and five interceptions. He’s also rushed for three scores.
Lagway is a former Five-Star Plus+ prospect who was the top-ranked quarterback in the 2024 recruiting class and named the Gatorade National Player of the Year coming out of high school. He’s played in five games as a true freshman and got his first career start against Samford last month, throwing for 456 yards and three touchdowns.
