Doug Edert, aka The Stache, sees enormous On3 NIL Valuation increase
Maybe it’s Doug Edert’s stash. Or maybe it’s because he ripped the hearts out of Big Blue Nation with 20 points in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Then again, maybe it was because he averaged 11.25 points in Saint Peter’s Cinderella run to the Elite Eight.
No matter the reasons why, Doug Edert – and his trademark mustache – now has one of the strongest brands in college sports with an On3 NIL Valuation of $134,000.
“Once people started calling him a ’70s porn star, calling him Ted Lasso, he’s like, ‘All right, just bring it, let’s go,’ ” Edert’s father, Bill, told The New York Post. “He called me and said, ‘There are kids at Saint Peter’s with mustaches on their face, what is going on?’ I’m like, ‘What’s going on? This is what you did. You created this.’
“Most people have a little bit of fear about what people think of them. He’s out there with that crazy hair and that mustache right now just doing his thing. That’s who he is. He almost reminds me of Will Ferrell.’’
Doug Edert meteoric rise through March Madness saw his NIL value increase so much he’s now 12th on On3’s College Basketball NIL Rank and No. 100 on On3’s NIL 100.
The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
The On3 NIL 100 is the first of its kind and the defacto NIL ranking of the top 100 high school and college athletes ranked by market valuation.

Doug Edert’s NIL value will continue to grow
Doug Edert has also made some headlines off the court.
After coach Shaheen Holloway announced he was leaving to become the head coach at his alma mater, Seton Hall, Edert was one of three Saint Peter’s players to say they were entering the Transfer Portal.
“I have nothing but love for everyone who has been by my side throughout my journey,” Edert said in a statement to On3. “I’m excited for what is to come and looking forward to exploring other opportunities for my basketball career.”
He also made news with his NIL deal with Buffalo Wild Wings and with his “Dougie Buckets” apparel line he launched with Barstool Sports.
Multiple NIL insiders say Doug Edert’s value is only going to climb higher in the coming weeks.
Don’t forget, he is a recruitable prospect in the portal, and fans from schools he’s considering will start tracking him. Plus, he’s also got a budding social media following with more than 159,000 followers on Instagram.
