Fairleigh Dickinson's Brayden Reynolds receives NIL deal with Degree
On the day of the NCAA men’s basketball national championship game, Milwaukee Bucks forward and two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo promoted on Twitter that Fairleigh Dickinson freshman walk-on guard Brayden Reynolds received a name, image and likeness deal with Degree Deodorant.
Reynolds was one of five walk-ons selected as part of the Degree campaign. He’ll receive $25,000 through the NIL deal.
“He’s got the true #NotDoneYet spirit, and I look forward to seeing his future achievements,” tweeted Antetokounmpo, who’s a Degree partner.
The day before, Reynolds announced his NIL deal with Degree in a video he shared on Twitter.
“It’s been a long and tough journey,” Reynolds said. “I’ve had to overcome a lot of obstacles. I had to fight through the COIVD epidemic and when it stopped the world, I knew that I couldn’t let that stop me and had to keep pushing through all the tough times and I was raised by great parents and they were able to get me through it.”
This year, Fairleigh Dickinson became just the second No. 16 seed to upset a No. 1 seed in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament. The Knights knocked off the Purdue Boilermakers 63-58. No. 9 seed Florida Atlantic defeated Fairleigh Dickinson in the second round.
Reynolds averaged 1.7 points and 0.9 rebounds per game in the 2022-23 season. He appeared in 32 games and averaged 10.5 minutes per game. He logged 34 minutes and six points in three NCAA tournament games.
“I’m now able to live out my dream and I was able to play in March Madness and not only be able to play in March Madness but I was actually able to be part of one of the greatest college basketball upsets of all time,” Reynolds said.
