Jalil Bethea won the McDonald’s Game dunk contest and is expected to be a lottery pick in the 2025 NBA draft.

He’s now inked an NIL deal, joining Klutch Athletics by New Balance. The Five-Star Plus+ Miami commit is ranked as the No. 6 overall recruit in the 2024 class. The Gatorade Boys Basketball Player of the Year in Pennsylvania averaged 23.2 points and seven rebounds as a senior at Archbishop Wood High School.

Now he’s ready to head to South Beach and join the Hurricanes. Repped by Klutch, he now joins the Klutch Athletics by New Balance sportswear brand, founded by Rich Paul and available at select New Balance retail locations throughout the country. The Klutch Sports Group was founded by Paul and NBA superstar LeBron James.

“Jalil is another great fit for our basketball roster which continues to grow quickly with standout student-athletes from across the country who all represent the idea of being Klutch,” Paul said in a statement. “He’s a major contributor on the court but also cares about his community, which is a pillar of our brand.”

Bethea joins a Klutch Athletics roster that includes NFL standouts Will Anderson Jr. and Chase Young, women’s high school basketball star Aaliyah Crump and high school players Caleb Wilson and Isiah Harwell.

“I’m incredibly honored and humbled to be joining the Klutch Athletics roster,” Bethea said. “I share the brand’s passion for performance and style, and I truly believe we are a perfect fit to work together on and off the court.”

Jalil Bethea’s On3 NIL Valuation

Jalil Bethea holds an On3 NIL Valuation of $479,000, which sits at No. 9 in the high school basketball NIL rankings.

With more than 90,000 social media followers and the Miami brand behind him, his NIL value will only rise. His roster value is also high as one of the top prospects in the 2024 cycle.

“Despite what some fans and media believe, there is not an unlimited amount of money being deployed to manage rosters,” said Shannon Terry, the founder and CEO of On3. “Any model – whether it’s today’s broken NCAA ‘student-athlete’ construct or media rights sharing through employment, which is almost a certainty in the near future – demands efficiency based on the athlete and school knowing the athlete’s respective market value.”

The On3 NIL Valuation is calculated by combining Roster Value and personal NIL. Roster value is the value an athlete has by being a member of his or her team at his or her school, which factors into the role of NIL collectives. NIL in an athlete’s name, image and likeness and the value it could bring to regional and national brands outside of the scope of NIL collectives.
