Florida quarterback DJ Lagway continues to build an NIL brand that benefits the Gainesville community. Lagway’s foundation hosted a kickoff dinner earlier this month, raising $50,000 that will be donated to UF Health community programs for local youth.

Earlier this month, in honor of International Women’s Day, Lagway donated six figures in NIL dollars to women’s sports. The Gators’ NIL collectiveFlorida Victorious, will split up the dollars between gymnastics, women’s basketball, softball and volleyball.

Lagway’s kickoff event included a silent and live auction. Painter Alex Ruiz created a 10-minute mural of Lagway, which sold for $9,000, and another piece fetched nearly $7,000 for the cause. The event was organized in collaboration with NETWORK, Lagway’s talent management and marketing agency.

“Growing up, my family has always prioritized giving back to the community, and we’ve seen the impact it can make,” Lagway said in a statement. “Through NIL, I have the chance to be part of that change, to use this opportunity for good. And I’m so thankful for everyone who joined us at the foundation kickoff dinner. Seeing this event come to life, and knowing how the funds we raised will benefit the local community is just the start of what we can accomplish together.”

The former five-star recruit jumped on the scene as a true freshman last fall, leading Florida down the stretch and winning its final four games. Many expect him to be a Heisman contender in 2025 and have Florida in the College Football Playoff conversation. He threw for 1,915 yards as a freshman in 2024.

Now a star at Florida, he’s using his platform to leverage NIL dollars to give back. In addition to a partnership with Gatorade, Lagway’s NIL portfolio includes deals with Nintendo and Epic Games, as well as Leaf Trading Cards.

DJ Lagway holds an On3 NIL Valuation of $3.8 million, which puts him at No. 4 in the college football NIL rankings. He also sits at No. 7 in the On3 NIL 100, the first of its kind and defacto NIL ranking of the top 100 high school and college athletes ranked by their On3 NIL Valuation.
