DJ Lagway is primed to be an NIL star at Florida.

The former Five-Star Plus+ prospect and top-ranked quarterback in the 2024 recruiting class is now enrolled in Gainesville, ready to start his college career with the Gators. Spring practice is just weeks away.

Despite not being able to monetize his name, image and likeness during his historic career at Willis (Texas), he can now legally turn a profit. He’s now brought on representation, too, signing with The Network Advisory and Legacy Sports Advisors for marketing, brand partnerships and NIL representation.

Lagway will be working directly with Network Advisory’s Justin J. Giangrande and Legacy’s Deiric Jackson. Both agents have a history of working with Florida quarterbacks. An alum of Florida, Giangrande previously worked closely with Tim Tebow during his time in Gainesville. Jackson, a Gainesville resident, assisted Anthony Richardson in NIL during his Florida career and continues to work with the Indianapolis Colts quarterback.

Giangrande has also continued working with Florida players, including linebacker Shemar James and wide reciever Tank Hawkins.

“I’m excited to have The Network Advisory and Legacy with me on this journey,” Lagway said. “It feels like I am becoming a part of a new family, a family that cares about my success both on and off the field. With Justin and Deiric’s guidance and support, I’m eager to bring Florida back to its rightful glory.”

DJ Lagway brings impressive resume to Gainesville

The Gatorade National Player of the Year threw for 4,631 yards, 58 touchdowns and six interceptions while completing 72.1% of his passes in his senior season. He’s also been named the National Quarterback Club high school player of the year and Mr. Texas. One of the most decorated players in high school football in recent memory, he is set to be named high school quarterback of the year on Friday by the National Quarterback Hall of Fame.

Lagway committed to the Gators in December 2022 before piecing together one of the best seasons in Texas football history. He averaged 430 total yards and 5.7 total touchdowns per game. Florida fans will get their first look at Lagway at the Gators’ spring game on April 13.

“DJ is an exceptional talent, poised to have a great career with the blue and orange, and I couldn’t be more excited to start working with him,” Jackson said.

The quarterback already has his first NIL deal, too. Lagway inked an endorsement deal with Leaf Trading Cards earlier this month, releasing a NextGen autograph card as part of the agreement. Lagway’s card is available for purchase at $69.99.

“We are thrilled to be working with DJ and his family,” said Giangrande, who is the CEO and founder of The Network Advisory. “Not only does his proven leadership abilities, talent and commitment to excellence align perfectly with our values, but the opportunity to work with another Florida Gators superstar at this point in my career, is extremely special to me. I look forward to helping DJ maximize his brand but also joining him on this journey to return Florida football to where it should be.”

Lagway should have strong NIL brand

DJ Lagway shot up the recruiting rankings over the past six months, now sitting as the No. 2 prospect in the 2024 class according to the On3 Ranking. He has more than 70,000 social media followers, too. The Florida quarterback has an On3 NIL Valuation of $859,000, which sits at No. 23 in the college football NIL rankings.

His valuation is also No. 37 in the On3 NIL 100, the first of its kind and defacto NIL ranking of the top 100 high school and college athletes ranked by their On3 NIL Valuation.

The On3 NIL Valuation is calculated by combining roster value and personal NIL. Roster value is the value an athlete has by being a member of his or her team at his or her school, which factors into the role of NIL collectives. NIL in an athlete’s name, image and likeness and the value it could bring to regional and national brands outside of the scope of NIL collectives.
