Jalen Carter's On3 NIL Valuation surges following national title, NFL Draft announcement
Jalen Carter had a Monday night to remember.
The Georgia defensive lineman helped the Bulldogs win their second consecutive national championship. And then, amidst the postgame celebration, he posted on social media his intentions to enter the NFL Draft.
Heading to the draft does not come as a surprise. Arguably the top defensive lineman in college football this year, Carter’s been projected to go as early as the top five in some mock drafts. He can wreak havoc and blow up plays easily.
Against Ohio State in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, Carter and Georgia’s defensive line struggled to break into the backfield. That was flipped Monday night at SoFi Stadium, as TCU quarterback Max Duggan was forced to scramble multiple times.
Carter finished the season with 32 tackles, including seven tackles for loss and two forced fumbles. The former five-star recruit finishes his three-year career with 18.5 tackles for in 38 games.
And while the Georgia star has already signed with Drew Rosenhaus and Ryan Matha for NFL Draft representation, there’s still time to monetize his NIL at the college level. His On3 NIL Valuation soared following Monday night, jumping to $1.2 million. That’s a $258,000 growth in the last week.
Carter’s valuation ranks No. 18 in the On3 NIL 100, which is the first of its kind and defacto NIL ranking of the top 100 high school and college athletes ranked by their On3 NIL Valuation. The valuation is also the highest-ranked among defensive linemen in college football.
He’s seen substantial growth in his social media following this season, too. As of Tuesday morning, Carter has more than 31,000 followers.
Jalen Carter’s NIL brand
Since the inception of NIL, Carter has not struggled to find opportunities with businesses. He has promoted companies such as Bread Man Apparel, Sports Addiction and the NASCAR Quaker State 400 on his Twitter account over the last 10 months.

Carter has also used his NIL brand to give back to his community. He held a camp this past summer at Apopka High School, his alma mater.
While his main focus will switch to preparations for the combine, Carter will have plenty of marketing partnerships available. As one of the top athletes in his draft class, brands will be clamoring to have their name associated with Carter’s.
About the On3 NIL Valuation
The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets the standard market NIL value for high school and college athletes. A proprietary algorithm, the On3 NIL Valuation calculates an athlete’s NIL value using dynamic data points targeting three primary categories: performance, influence and exposure.
About On3 NIL Valuation, Brand Value, Roster Value
While the algorithm includes deal data, it does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals athletes have completed to date, nor does it set an athlete’s NIL valuation for their entire career.
The On3 NIL Valuation accounts for an athlete’s roster value and brand value. Roster value is the value an athlete has by being a member of his or her team at his or her school, which factors into the role of NIL collectives. Brand value factors in an athlete’s personal brand and the value it could bring to regional and national brands outside of the scope of NIL collectives.
