Jalen Milroe put together one of the best performances of his career Saturday at Kentucky, scoring six touchdowns in the blowout win.

With the six touchdowns, he became just the third Alabama player to reach the mark, joining Tua Tagovailoa and Bryce Young. Despite the success, Milroe isn’t enjoying it quite yet. In his postgame press conference following the 49-21 win in Lexington, he said he was frustrated with his play.

While he didn’t admit it, part of the want to continue to grow is rooted in his benching in September. Alabama coach Nick Saban started Tyler Buchner over Milore for the Tide’s game at South Florida. Coming off a loss at home to Texas, the head coach wanted to mix it up.

Milroe got the job back before SEC play, but he has no plans of being in that position again. He’s matured each week, putting the Tide back into the College Football Playoff conversation. Alabama was slated at No. 7 in Tuesday night’s rankings.

As he’s developed into the starting role, his On3 NIL Valuation has soared. The quarterback’s valuation dropped 11% to $206,000 after the USF game. It’s bounced back, just like his on-field performance, climbing to $1.2 million. His valuation has seen a 410% growth over the past 10 weeks, rising $950,000.

After Saturday’s win over Kentucky, his valuation is up $345,000.

Jalen Milroe is one of just 19 players in college football with a seven-figure valuation. He sits at No. 16 in the On3 NIL 100, the first of its kind and defacto NIL ranking of the top 100 high school and college athletes ranked by their On3 NIL Valuation.

Alabama quarterback’s growing brand

As the Alabama quarterback has gained stardom on the field, Jalen Milroe’s social media following has grown. He’s more than doubled his total follower count in the last year, which now sits at over 140,000 followers.

With that, more and more brands have wanted to align themselves with Milroe. He signed a multi-year endorsement deal with Rhoback in August 2022. Before this season, he was one of 15 players picked as part of Beats by Dre’s inaugural “Beats Elite” class.

Arguably his best campaign to date was partnering with Athlete’s Thread, releasing LANK apparel with Terrion Arnold. The motto stands for “Let all naysayers know.” With some doubt surrounding the Tide, after they failed to make the College Football Playoff last season, it has become a rallying cry this year.

Alabama still has a realistic shot of making the CFP. Winning the next two followed by a win over Georgia in Atlanta in the SEC Championship Game could earn a berth in the playoff.

“You can see it week by week,” offensive lineman Tyler Booker said of Milroe’s growth. “Jalen’s get better at something different each week. Something he’s gotten better at is stepping up in the pocket and movement in the pocket. We’re just getting better as a whole, but Jalen’s definitely improving and when you have better play from a quarterback, just better play on the team.”

If he decides to return for another season, Jalen Milroe will be one of the most marketable names in college football.

About the On3 NIL Valuation

The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets the standard market NIL value for high school and college athletes. A proprietary algorithm, the On3 NIL Valuation calculates an athlete’s NIL value using dynamic data points targeting three primary categories: performance, influence and exposure.

About On3 NIL Valuation, Brand Value, Roster Value

While the algorithm includes deal data, it does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals athletes have completed to date, nor does it set an athlete’s NIL valuation for their entire career.

The On3 NIL Valuation accounts for an athlete’s roster value and brand value. Roster value is the value an athlete has by being a member of his or her team at his or her school, which factors into the role of NIL collectives. Brand value factors in an athlete’s personal brand and the value it could bring to regional and national brands outside of the scope of NIL collectives.
