Mass St. Collective continues to find some of the most unique ways in the country to create NIL opportunities for Kansas Jayhawk student-athletes.

Mass St. is the collective that allows fans to pledge donations for every home run, strikeout or win for the KU baseball or softball teams. It’s also the same group that partnered with MiniJerzeys to hawk mini-NIL jerseys and with a local Wendy’s franchise to support basketball, volleyball and football players.

This time, Mass St. is offering fans to get a piece of KU history.

In honor of KU’s Big 12 regular-season basketball championship, Mass St. is giving away three pieces of the 2022 national championship floor signed by conference player of the year Jalen Wilson, defensive player of the year Dajuan Harris and most improved player KJ Adams.

All fans have to do to be entered in the giveaway is follow Mass St. on Twitter, retweet and like the tweet that’s linked here. The winner will be announced Friday. Mass St. Director of Athlete Engagement Stephanie Temple thought of the concept and helped the collective execute the plan with graphics, autographs and giveaway execution.

“Financial contributions from all KU fans, no matter the amount, are critical to our NIL success,” Mass St. Chief Operating Officer Dan Beckler told On3. “In addition to our monthly giving levels that range from $25 to $1,000-plus, we want to help grow the brands of the student-athletes through partnerships with a variety of companies. Whether that’s through new and unique products, like MiniJerzey’s or a charitable activity with the Lawrence Humane Society, each of those provides opportunities for brand growth that didn’t necessarily exist in the past.

“Giveaways like the autographed pieces of the championship floor are items that other collectives can’t offer right now. Those that contribute financially each month will have better chances to win those special items and also open up access to much more.”

Mass St. Collective has long list of deals helping KU athletes

Originally founded in 2021 as 6th Man Strategies and 12th Man Strategies, KU boosters rebranded the collective as Mass Strategies in July 2022. The collective is still widely known as Mass St. Collective, though. Regardless of its name, it quickly became one of the most extensive in the space with its focus on personal branding, sales, resources, PR, tax strategy, legal and business advising.

Unique deals and fan engagement opportunities also continue to push the envelope as Mass St. explores ways to raise money and awareness in the Kansas Jayhawks marketplace. Along with the distinctive deals and fan experience opportunities, Mass St. has become one of the premier collectives in the country with its support of KU student-athletes in every major sport in the athletic department.

A major shift in this week’s Bracketology from Joe Lunardi at ESPN saw KU move up to the No. 1 overall seed in NCAA Tournament. Many did not expect the Jayhawks to reach this level this season. But based on a wildly impressive Quad 1 record, Lunardi gave them the nod over Alabama and Houston.

And with all of the excitement about KU basketball and the rapidly approaching NCAA Tournament, don’t be surprised if Mass St. has a few more creative NIL ideas on the way.

On3 NIL valuations for Kansas basketball stars

Jalen Wilson has an On3 NIL Valuation of $907,000, a number that puts him among the best of the best in college basketball and all college sports.

Wilson – who led the Big 12 in scoring and rebounding with 19.7 points and 8.4 rebounds – ranks third in the On3 College Basketball NIL Ranking. He’s also No. 25 in the On3 NIL 100, which is the first of its kind and de facto NIL ranking of the top 100 high school and college athletes ranked by their On3 NIL Valuation.

KJ Adams has an On3 NIL Valuation of $107,000 and Dajuan Harris has a valuation of $36,000. Both Adams and Harris have been NIL partners with Mass St. for quite some time.

The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets the standard market NIL value for high school and college athletes. A proprietary algorithm, the On3 NIL Valuation calculates an athlete’s NIL value using dynamic data points targeting three primary categories: performance, influence and exposure.

About On3 NIL Valuation, Brand Value, Roster Value

While the algorithm includes deal data, it does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals athletes have completed to date, nor does it set an athlete’s NIL valuation for their entire career.

The On3 NIL Valuation is publicly available. Performance, Influence, and Exposure ratings along with the athlete’s personal Brand Value Index and Roster Value Index are available only to the athlete in the “Athlete Verified” private dashboard on the On3 Athlete Network.
