Michigan defensive back Rod Moore came up with the biggest defensive play in The Game this past Saturday. His interception with 27 seconds left sealed the Wolverines’ 30-24 victory over Ohio State, and now Moore is using his NIL to commemorate the moment.

Moore has partnered with The Players Truck to release limited-edition merchandise to remember “THE Game.”

“We all know how it ended,” Moore said in a social media post promoting T-shirts, hoodies and long-sleeve shirts that feature his likeness and the words “Called Game” in all caps. The gear ranges in price from $29.99 for the T-shirts to $59.99 for the hoodies. The Players Truck said Moore is receiving “the majority share of each unit sold.”

“It’s a really cool idea and execution,” The Players Trunk co-founder Hunter Pomerantz said.

Based on the social interactions of Michigan fans, the Wolverine faithful agree. Moore’s post from Monday night has generated nearly 200,000 views and has been liked more than 1,4000 times.

Rod Moore coming on strong for Michigan

A junior safety, Rod Moore was ready for a big 2023 season, before he went down with a knee injury midway through fall camp. He didn’t see the field until Week 4, the team’s Big Ten opener against Rutgers.

Moore missed a tackle on the third play from scrimmage, leading to a touchdown. Fast forward to the Big Ten Championship Game week, and Moore is playing some of the best football of his career. Along with the interception against the Buckeyes, Moore had five tackles. He also racked up six tackles and a tackle for a loss in a key victory over Penn State.

“I feel like I’ve progressed a lot,” Moore told The Wolverine. “I feel like I’m stronger, and I feel like I got a little bit faster than I did last year.”

Rod Moore’s growing NIL brand

Rod Moore doesn’t have a huge list of NIL agreements on his resume, but the deal with The Players Trunk indicates companies know a good thing when they see it. More has more than 30,000 followers on social media, including 23,000 on Instagram alone.

Moore has participated in multiple NIL deals in the past with Ann Arbor-based sports retailer The M Den.

He has an On3 NIL Valuation of $205,000, which has climbed 23% over the past 10 weeks.

The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets the standard market NIL value for high school and college athletes. A proprietary algorithm, the On3 NIL Valuation calculates an athlete’s NIL value using dynamic data points targeting three primary categories: performance, influence and exposure.

About On3 NIL Valuation, Brand Value, Roster Value

While the algorithm includes deal data, it does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals athletes have completed to date, nor does it set an athlete’s NIL valuation for their entire career.
