No. 1 recruit Bryce Underwood partners with Michigan's NIL collective to release merch store
The nation’s top-ranked recruit Bryce Underwood flipped from LSU to Michigan on Thursday night. The No. 1 quarterback recruit is not wasting time capitalizing on the moment from an NIL perspective.
For the last five to six weeks, the Wolverines have ramped up their recruitment of Underwood. Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore put on a full-court press, with the institution’s NIL collective raising unprecedented dollars to flip the 2025 recruiting cycle.
Thursday night was the payoff. Now, Underwood has partnered with the Michigan NIL collective Champions Circle and Valiant Management to release autographed trading cards priced at $1,900 and jersey T-shirts for $50, all available for preorder. Bryce Underwood-themed graphic T-shirts are being rolled out, too.
“I am beyond excited to announce my commitment to the University of Michigan,” Underwood said in a statement on the NIL collective’s website. “Growing up here, it’s been a lifelong dream to wear the Maize and Blue. I’m ready to give my all for this team, this university, and our incredible fans
The NIL collective said in a press release that Jolin and Larry Ellison “were instrumental in making this happen by providing Champions Circle with invaluable guidance and financial resources.” Larry Ellison co-founded the software company Oracle.
Multiple sources tell On3 that contracts from LSU and Michigan were reviewed in recent weeks. Michigan presented the Underwood camp with a multi-year deal described as “life-changing money.” On3 has not viewed the final contract as it has not been signed. Sources have confidently said it will pay between $8 to $10 million counting incentives.
The Wolverine’s EJ Holland recently reported the number he is hearing is “around $10.5 million over four years.” Michigan general manager Sean Magee and the NIL collective were critical in the flip.

“Just an exciting time,” Moore told On3’s Steve Wiltfong on Thursday night. He can’t publicly comment on a specific prospect until they sign a letter-of-intent.
“The guys understanding what the culture is like, what the vision is for the program and I think that’s why we’re getting these high-level kids,” Moore continued. “Guys that want to be part of bringing back what has been the last couple years of Michigan football.”
With the opportunity to compete for a national title roughly 30 minutes from his hometown of Belleville, Michigan, and land an NIL package that would change his family’s life, it was hard for Underwood to pass up, sources said.
The 6-foot-4, 214-pound quarterback finished his high school career with a 50-4 record, winning state championships as a freshman and sophomore. He broke the Michigan high school football records for career passing and total touchdowns earlier this season.
