A year ago, Anna Frey made a name for herself on social media thanks to looking similar to San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy. But now the junior in high school is gaining popularity for her prowess on the tennis court.

Frey committed to North Carolina in late January and has amassed over two million followers on TikTok with 831,000 on Instagram. Along the way, the Farmington, Utah, native has built a growing NIL portfolio. She has a $681,278 On3 NIL Valuation. The valuation is No. 1 in women’s high school tennis and No. 10. in the Women’s NIL 100.

The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets the standard market NIL value for high school and college athletes. The valuation calculates an athlete’s NIL value using dynamic data points targeting three primary categories: performance, influence and exposure.

In August, Frey upset Tamara Korpatsch at the Tennis in The Land tournament in Cleveland. Korpatsch was ranked No. 108 in the world. Now Frey has a World Tennis Association ranking of 824. She joins a North Carolina program that won the NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Championship in 2023. The Tar Heels were national runner-ups in 2014, the only other title appearance in program history.

Last fall, Frey signed NIL deals with FILA and Head USA. HEAD equipped Frey with racquets and gear and agreed to showcase FILA’s CASA FILA collection on the court. She will visit HEAD’s headquarters in Austria, and the collaboration with FILA has the potential to take her to their headquarters in Milan, Italy.

Following her commitment to North Carolina earlier this month, Anna Frey joined the Utah-based technology company Udo Cam as both a partner and equity holder. As part of the six-figure agreement, she will receive equity, royalties and cash compensation. The 17-year-old tennis star also inked an NIL deal with Nerds ahead of the Super Bowl, part of a larger campaign that featured multiple college athletes.

“I am so excited,” Frey recently told Fox 13 Salt Lake City. “North Carolina was one of my dream schools since I was little. I think it will be good to switch up some training. I’ve been here my whole life, so I’m excited to elevate my game even more at UNC.”
