Peyton Woodyard is taking steps to build his NIL brand.

The four-star safety in the class of 2024 signed his first NIL deal in May, entering a partnership with the health and beauty company Bevel. Since then he’s flipped his commitment from Georgia to Alabama. Now he has brought on NIL representation.

A top 100 recruit according to the On3 Industry Ranking, Woodyard has brought on Athletes First to help manage his brand as he prepares for his college career. As a high schooler in California, he is currently allowed to monetize his NIL without losing his eligibility. Now he can begin working with the agency to prepare for when he arrives at Alabama.

Athletes First has emerged as a popular NIL agency over the last 26 months, working with some of college football’s biggest names including C.J. Stroud and Bijan Robinson. Woodyard, the sixth-ranked safety in the nation, can now add his name to the list. The management firm primarily works in the NFL but has started to sign more and more athletes to NIL representation agreements, working with brands like C4 Energy, Athletic Brewing and Rhoback.

Even this spring, many were anticipating the senior at St. John Bosco to flip from Georgia. An Alabama fan at heart, Woodyard never ruled out the Tide while also staying in touch with Ohio State and USC. His decision to flip to Alabama was big for Nick Saban’s program, which has pieced together the fourth-ranked recruiting class in the country.

“I just feel like Alabama has always been a home for me,” Woodyard previously told On3’s Chad Simmons. “I always envisioned it as a home for me since I was a kid. Like I said, it was my dream school. My dad is from Mobile, Alabama. All of my family is going to be excited about that. What sets Alabama apart is just what they’ve done consistently over the years.”

Peyton Woodyard building out NIL future

Now that Peyton Woodyard has NIL representation, he can start building out a successful NIL portfolio. As one of the top-ranked defensive backs in the nation, he’s primed to be successful already touting more than 32,000 followers across his social media channels.

National companies have placed importance on follower count when partnering with athletes when it comes to social media endorsements. Outside of agreements with NIL collectives, social media posts have become the leading activity for athletes. Boasting a large following across Instagram and TikTok, specifically, can make all the difference in compensation.

Woodyard has a $150,000 On3 NIL Valuation, which ranks No. 85 in the high school football rankings.

The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets the standard market NIL value for high school and college athletes. A proprietary algorithm, the On3 NIL Valuation calculates an athlete’s NIL value using dynamic data points targeting three primary categories: performance, influence and exposure.

About On3 NIL Valuation, Brand Value, Roster Value

While the algorithm includes deal data, it does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals athletes have completed to date, nor does it set an athlete’s NIL valuation for their entire career. Furthermore, the On3 NIL Valuation accounts for an athlete’s roster value and brand value. Roster value is the value an athlete has by being a member of his or her team at his or her school, which factors into the role of NIL collectives. Brand value factors in an athlete’s personal brand and the value it could bring to regional and national brands outside of the scope of NIL collectives.
