Pierce Clarkson partners with Jerry Rice’s energy drink company through NIL deal
Thanks to a NIL deal, Louisville four-star quarterback commitment Pierce Clarkson is the latest headliner to join the G.O.A.T. Fuel family.
Clarkson, a 6-foot and 196-pound signal-caller from Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco, recently appeared in a social media promotion for the energy drink co-founded by NFL legend Jerry Rice and his daughter, Jaqui Rice.
The commercial shows Clarkson opening a refrigerator, where he selects a Pink Candy flavored G.O.A.T. Fuel drink. Clarkson pops it into his backpack, hops into an all-blacked-out Mercedes-Benz and heads to the gym. He’s then seen working out and enjoying the drink. According to Zach Soskin, an athlete advocate and brand builder, the commercial was done by Madison Williams, who also works as a videographer with the Clemson football program.
G.O.A.T. Fuel has strong relationships with athletes
Pierce Clarkson is not the first athlete G.O.A.T. Fuel has worked with.
In December, the energy drink company announced San Francisco 49ers quarterback Trey Lance as its first NFL ambassador. Lance, drafted third overall in the 2021 NFL draft, is regarded as one of the next generation of G.O.A.T.s – or greatest of all time. He is the energy drink’s second overall sports ambassador. The company announced a partnership with Miami Heat’s Tyler Herro earlier in 2021. G.O.A.T. Fuel was also recently named the official energy drink of the Los Angeles Lakers.
G.O.A.T. Fuel also has a NIL deal with Norfolk State football and track athlete Rayquan Smith. Smith is known as the “King of NIL” with more than 18,000 followers on Instagram and nearly 100,000 on TikTok.
Pierce Clarkson has strong NIL brand
However, it appears that Clarkson is the first high school athlete Rice’s company has partnered with. Details about the NIL agreement were not released. However, company spokesperson Christian Laursen said Clarkson “is not an official G.O.A.T. Fuel ambassador but should that change we will be sure to let you know.”
The NIL deal with Clarkson solidifies the brand’s standing as the go-to energy drink for athletes and those looking for a clean boost of energy and further secures its position as the official energy drink of sports.
It also further solidifies Clarkson’s NIL value.
Clarkson currently has an annual On3 NIL Valuation of $148,000. The On3 NIL Valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time. Clarkson also ranks No. 68 in the High School Football NIL Rankings.

The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
Clarkson also has a $1.1K On3 Per Post Value with a significant social media following of more than 30,000. His largest following is on Instagram with 13.9K followers, but he also has more than 10.1K followers on TikTok.
Pierce Clarkson star of Louisville’s top 15 class
Louisville has gotten out of the gate strong in the Class of 2023, largely because of the recruiting efforts of Pierce Clarkson. The Cardinals have 10 commitments and are ranked No. 13 in the On3 Consensus Recruiting Rankings. Clarkson committed to the Cards in late January and has been actively recruiting other stars to join him.
His recruiting efforts helped Louisville land coveted four-star receiver DeAndre Moore Jr., four-star cornerback Aaron Williams and several others in the highly-respected class. He is also actively pursuing No. 2 running back Rueben Owens. Owens takes an official visit to Louisville this upcoming weekend.
