Quinn Ewers launches NFT in NIL partnership with Metabillia
Quinn Ewers is using his NIL rights to enter the NFT world.
The Texas quarterback has announced a partnership with Metabillia to create digital collectibles for fans. Ewers has put 12 NFT packs up for sale, ranging from $30 to $500.
While he’s now playing for the Longhorns, the agreement was signed when he played at Ohio State back in 2021. The deal is set to pay the quarterback somewhere in the seven-figure range, per ESPN’s Pete Thamel. As part of the agreement, he’s also giving away signed jersey.
The highest-valued NFT pack Ewers has put up for sale is a “black pack.” This includes one NFT with a randomized serial number. Holders of a black pass NFT are entitled to purchase for $1 all future founders class black event NFTs issued by Ewers and are eligible to purchase selected limited edition NFTs in the future
Ewers also plans to host six NFT events throughout the rest of the season. He’s expected to be back for the Red River Rivalry this weekend.
“My goal is to be the best I can be, and I want you guys to tag along with me,” Ewers said in a video posted to his social media platforms.
An NFT is a digital asset that represents real-world objects like art, music, in-game items and videos. They are bought and sold online, frequently with cryptocurrency. Trading volumes in NFTs have tumbled 97% from a record high this past January. They slid to just $466 million in September from $17 billion at the start of 2022, according to data from Dune Analytics. Per Bloomberg, the fading NFT mania is part of a $2 trillion wipeout in the crypto sector.

Quinn Ewers holds massive On3 NIL Valuation
This is not the former five-star recruit‘s first NIL deal. Quinn Ewers has inked deals with Wrangler and Fortnite. And he enrolled at Ohio State a year early to land a deal with GT Sports Marketing worth $1.4 million because the state of Texas does not allow high school players to be compensated off NIL.
He also holds a massive On3 NIL Valuation of $1 million. The evaluations ranks No. 10 in college football and No. 17 in the NIL 100. He’s grown his social media to 193k strong in his first two seasons. Ewers’ per post value sits at $2,500.
The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets the standard market NIL value for high school and college athletes. The evaluation utilizes a proprietary algorithm that includes data points regarding an athlete’s performance, influence and exposure.
It doesn’t act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date, nor does it project an athlete’s market value for the rest of the athlete’s career. Rather, it calculates the projected value of an athlete’s NIL opportunities for up to 12 months in the future.
