Iowa State QB Rocco Becht donates gaming systems to hospital patients with NIL earnings

As Iowa State’s starting quarterback last season, Rocco Becht helped lead the Cyclones squarely into the College Football Playoff conversation. But he also used NIL for good – and continues to do so.
Becht donated XBox gaming systems to a local pediatric hospital using his NIL earnings, We Will Collective executive director Brent Blum shared via social media. He also spent time with the patients at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames and played games with them.
Becht saw his On3 NIL Valuation soar to $1.3 million last season. As he prepares for his redshirt senior campaign, though, he’s also making sure to give back to the community through NIL.
On the football field, Becht put together an impressive season to lead Iowa State to an 11-3 record and Big 12 Championship appearance. He threw for 3,505 yards and 25 touchdowns while also adding 318 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on the ground. After the year, he confirmed he planned to run it back for his final year of eligibility in 2024.
“We are losing two guys that mean so much to this program on offense, and have put up a bunch of yards and total yards for us, but we’ve got guys coming in,” Becht said, via the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier. “And I trust our coaches and our staff to put together a team next season to produce the same quality of play that we did this year. So I’m excited for it.”

Rocco Becht’s On3 NIL Valuation soared in 2024
Off the field in 2024, Rocco Becht’s On3 NIL Valuation rose steadily amid his strong season. At $1.3 million, he sits at No. 39 in the college football NIL rankings. He also ranks No. 81 in the On3 NIL 100, the first of its kind and de facto NIL ranking of the top 100 high school and college athletes ranked by their On3 NIL Valuation.
This isn’t the first time Becht used his NIL dollars to benefit the community. He also purchased Ninja coolers for his offensive linemen as a thank you for protecting him throughout the season. Additionally, he funded a youth football camp last year in nearby Perry through a partnership with the We Will Collective. The camp was free to students and the quarterback also made a donation to Perry High School.
“The state of Iowa and our community has given so much love to me and my family and we wanted to find a way to give back,” Becht said in a statement at the time. “Perry has gone through so much in the past year and this was a small way to show support and provide a fun day for the kids in Perry.”
