West Virginia's Rodney Gallagher releases T-shirts to benefit Morgantown Children's Hospital
Rodney Gallagher has quickly settled into Morgantown.
A freshman wide receiver at West Virginia, he was the top-ranked recruit in the Mountaineers’ 2023 recruiting class. He’s made an impact early on, too, piecing together his best game of the season this past weekend. Gallagher finished with three catches for 15 yards while carrying the ball twice for 20 yards.
Now he wants to give back to the West Virginia community. The receiver announced Monday night on social media that he’s launching his own T-shirt, with all proceeds going to the Morgantown Children’s Hospital. It’s a selfless act for Gallagher, who could pocket all the profits thanks to NIL.
He’s using his platform to instead give back.
“The community has shown a ton of love since I’ve committed here,” Gallagher told On3 on Monday night. “I love the environment and I say that day in and day out. My freshman year has been a great experience and has taught me a lot about how to be a man. I’ve grown in many situations on and off the field to better myself as a person and as much as an athlete.”
Priced at $30, the shirt features a photo of Gallagher in his West Virginia jersey. Fans can purchase the T-shirt here.
West Virginia is 5-2 on the season, coming off a 41-28 win over UCF. After many put head coach Neal Brown on the hot seat this summer, the Mountaineers received votes for the AP poll three consecutive weeks earlier this season.
Gallagher has been looking for a way to give back to Morgantown. Working with Jaster Athletes, which reps him in marketing and brand management, now he has his vehicle to do so.
“Yes, I have been talking about something like this for a couple of weeks now,” he said. “It’s something I like to do and help the surrounding kids in the area to know they have someone to look up to.”

Rodney Gallagher’s On3 NIL Valuation
The West Virginia commit currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $143,000. The third-ranked prospect out of Pennsylvania in the 2023 class built up a massive social media following throughout his high school career. Gallagher has more than 125,00 followers across Instagram, TikTok and Twitter.
He’s found success in NIL, holding his own youth football camp this summer. Gallagher also was the first high school athlete to sign an NIL deal in the state of Pennsylvania last December. He inked an endorsement deal with The Pavement Group, one of the leading paving contractors in the country.
The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets the standard market NIL value for high school and college athletes. A proprietary algorithm, the On3 NIL Valuation calculates an athlete’s NIL value using dynamic data points targeting three primary categories: performance, influence and exposure.
About On3 NIL Valuation, Brand Value, Roster Value
While the algorithm includes deal data, it does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals athletes have completed to date, nor does it set an athlete’s NIL valuation for their entire career.
