Spencer Rattler picks up G-Wagon from Dick Dyer Mercedes-Benz thanks to NIL deal
Before Spencer Rattler made the decision to return to South Carolina for another season, the quarterback inked an NIL deal with Dick Dyer Mercedes-Benz.
The former Oklahoma transfer held an exclusive meet and greet with fans in December, as part of the agreement. And on Monday, Rattler picked up his car from the Dentsville, South Carolina, dealership for the 2023 season.
The quarterback shared the news of his new vehicle on Instagram, showing off a matte black G-Wagon SUV. According to the dealership’s website, retail for a 2023 G-Wagon is priced at $139,000. When Dick Dyer announced the partnership this past winter, Rattler was pictured in a garnet-colored Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon.
With Rattler back at South Carolina for another year, the Gamecocks are hoping to improve on their 8-5 record from last season. The former five-star recruit announced his return to Columbia in January, opting to hold off on entering the NFL draft for another year. A week later, he re-signed with the South Carolina-driven NIL collective Garnet Trust.
Car deals have become extremely popular in the NIL Era. Former Texas running back Bijan Robinson had a deal last year with Lamborghini of Austin, while Ohio State quarterback CJ Stroud had a G-Wagon. Many athletes have received the keys to vehicles in exchange for social media promotion. At Georgia, head coach Kirby Smart recently admitted NIL is a factor in the uptick in speeding tickets players have received.
Rattler has racked up more than a dozen NIL deals through two years. He was repped by Chris Cabott, Selwyn Roberts and Jason Ley of Equity Sports on the deal. Dick Dyer is not the first car dealership he has worked with. He entered into an NIL deal with Fowler Automotive in Norman, Oklahoma, in 2021.
He moved on when he made the decision to link up with Shane Beamer in December 2021. In his first season with the Gamecocks, the top-ranked quarterback in the 2019 cycle threw for 3,026 yards with 18 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. With a 66.2% completion percentage, Rattler led South Carolina to key wins over Tennessee and Clemson.

Spencer Rattler’s On3 NIL Valuation
Spencer Rattler currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $1 million, a number that has seen an uptick of roughly $200K since the end of the 2022 season.
The figure puts him at No. 17 on the On3 NIL College Football NIL Ranking. He is also No. 24 in the On3 NIL 100, which is the first of its kind and the defacto NIL ranking of the top 100 high school and college athletes ranked by market valuation.
His 580,000 social media followers are one of the largest in college football, making him an attractive option for brands.
The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets the standard market NIL value for high school and college athletes. A proprietary algorithm, the On3 NIL Valuation calculates an athlete’s NIL value using dynamic data points targeting three primary categories: performance, influence and exposure.
About On3 NIL Valuation, Brand Value, Roster Value
While the algorithm includes deal data, it does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals athletes have completed to date, nor does it set an athlete’s NIL valuation for their entire career. The On3 NIL Valuation calculates the optimized NIL opportunity for athletes relative to the overall NIL market and projects out to as long as 12 months into the future.
