Top five On3 NIL Valuations in Alabama-Auburn matchup
In years past, it has been Auburn entering this matchup as a top-ranked team. But Nate Oats has Alabama at No. 5 in the country in early February, poised for another trip to the Big Dance.
The Tide head coach signed a new contract earlier this month that will run through the 2028-2029 season. Oats will be paid $4.5 million in the first year of his updated contract, with $200,000 annual increases that raise his average pay to $5 million. He’ll be one of the highest paid coaches in the SEC.
With College GameDay in town Saturday and a 2 p.m. ET tip scheduled at Neville Arena, Alabama at Auburn is one of the top games on the slate. It’s the first season behind the two teams this season. With a top-15 offense and a top-10 defense, Alabama is going to be tough to slow down. The Tigers have lost three out of their last four games.
Before tip off, On3 is breaking down the top five On3 NIL Valuations in the game.
1. Brandon Miller
Position: Small Forward
On3 NIL Valuation: $573,000
On3 College Basketball NIL Rank: No. 12
Social Media Followers: 44,000
Nate Oats has been able to turnaround Alabama basketball in four seasons. He took the Tide to the Sweet 16 in his second season. But the No. 4 recruiting class he brought in this past offseason could make the long-term difference. Brandon Miller was the No. 14 overall recruit and a five-star prospect in the 2022 class. He’s quickly emerged as the best freshman in the country, a contender in the National Player of the Year race. The small forward is averaging 19 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, shooting 45.7% from the floor. He’s dropped more than 30 points three times, too. Miller has not rushed into NIL, but he signed his first deal this week. The 6-foot-9, 200-pound freshman landed a Dodge Charger scat pack with Bice Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.
2. Jahvon Quinerly
Position: Point Guard
On3 NIL Valuation: $496,000
On3 College Basketball NIL Rank: No. 16
Social Media Followers: 44,000
The former five-star recruit and Villanova transfer had to spend the better part of two years not playing. Jahvon Quinerly made a splash when he returned, playing a major role in Alabama’s run to the Sweet 16 in 2021. Not even four minutes into the Tide’s first round NCAA Tournament game last March, however, he tore his ACL. The point guard had an early return from recovery, playing in Alabama’s first game of the season. He’s slowly started to pick up more playing time, averaging 7.5 points and 3.6 assists per game. Quinerly has also been a success story in the NIL space. The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder has signed on to major campaigns, partnering with brands like Express and Dunkin. He’s also signed a deal with the Tuscaloosa retailer Christopher Mobley. And he’s promoting the ticketing app Vivid Seats ahead of the Super Bowl.
3. Allen Flanigan
Position: Small Forward
On3 NIL Valuation: $167,000
On3 College Basketball NIL Rank: No. 46
Social Media Followers: 7,000
Allen Flanigan‘s 2021 season did not start ideally. The Auburn small forward had surgery on his right Achilles tendon in September, forcing him to miss all of preseason practice and November as a junior. He made his return late December, trying to get back into a rhythm. He showed what he could become as a sophomore, and now he’s playing his best stretch of basketball. Flanigan is averaging 9.5 points and five rebounds per game this season, shooting 44.9% from the field. He’s started the past eight games, too. In the NIL realm, he has publicly promoted the Auburn-aligned NIL collective On To Victory. Sources confirmed to On3’s Auburn Live in September the collective raised more than $10 million in the first month of its 30 in 3 campaign. That number has reportedly ballooned to $13 million and has passed the $15 million threshold.
4. K.D. Johnson
Position: Point Guard
On3 NIL Valuation: $87,000
On3 College Basketball NIL Rank: No. 99

A preseason All-SEC second team entering the year, K.D. Johnson has become a key bench contributor for Auburn. A one-time Georgia player, he transferred to Auburn following the 2020-21 season and made an instant impact a year ago. In his first year with the Tigers, he started 31 of 34 games. But this season, he’s made the switch to being the primary sixth man. Johnson is averaging 8.1 points and 1.7 rebounds per game this season.
5. Nimari Burnett
Position: Combo Guard
On3 NIL Valuation: $58,000
On3 College Basketball NIL Rank: No. 146
Social Media Followers: 69,000
A former McDonald’s All-American, Nimari Burnett transferred to Alabama from Texas Tech following the 2020-21 season. He missed the entirety of his first season with the Tide after suffering a knee injury in the preseason. He started the first nine games of this season before a wrist injury put him on pause. He made his return to the court in January at Missouri and has eased back into it. In his fourth game back against Vanderbilt, he dropped 16 points. And he scored 13 at LSU. Alabama will need a strong performance Saturday from Burnett, who is a member of Degree’s Breaking Limits NIL team.
About the On3 NIL Valuation
The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets the standard market NIL value for high school and college athletes. A proprietary algorithm, the On3 NIL Valuation calculates an athlete’s NIL value using dynamic data points targeting three primary categories: performance, influence and exposure.
About On3 NIL Valuation, Brand Value, Roster Value
While the algorithm includes deal data, it does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals athletes have completed to date, nor does it set an athlete’s NIL valuation for their entire career.
The On3 NIL Valuation accounts for an athlete’s roster value and brand value. Roster value is the value an athlete has by being a member of his or her team at his or her school, which factors into the role of NIL collectives. Brand value factors in an athlete’s personal brand and the value it could bring to regional and national brands outside of the scope of NIL collectives.
The On3 NIL Valuation is publicly available. Performance, Influence, and Exposure ratings along with the athlete’s personal Brand Value Index and Roster Value Index are available only to the athlete in the “Athlete Verified” private dashboard on the On3 Athlete Network.
