Top five On3 NIL Valuations in Rose Bowl
Utah was in the same position a year ago, a Pac-12 title in hand. But the Utes ultimately fell to Ohio State in an all-time classic at the Rose Bowl.
Now they’re back in Pasadena, trying to win the first Rose Bowl in program history. Cameron Rising and the Utah were able to knock USC out of the College Football Playoff in the Pac-12 title game. The only thing left to check off on the list is bringing home a Rose Bowl title.
Only this time, Penn State is the Big Ten’s representative in the oldest currently operating bowl game. With a top-15 matchup, there’s plenty of potential for another instant classic.
On3 is breaking down the top-five On3 NIL Valuations ahead of the Rose Bowl.
Note: Utah tight end Dalton Kincaid and cornerback Clark Phillips III were left off this list because they declared for the NFL Draft and opted out of the Rose Bowl.
Cameron Rising
On3 NIL Valuation: $535,000
Position: Quarterback
On3 Impact 300 ranking: No. 87
Cameron Rising committed to Texas and redshirted his first year on campus before transferring to Utah following the season. Despite losing the starting job to Charlie Brewer last season, he earned back the title and led Utah to its first Pac-12 title and a Rose Bowl appearance. Utah’s back in the same spot again, thanks to Rising. He knocked USC out of the College Football Playoff with the Utes’ win in the Pac-12 title game. And now a matchup with Penn State in Pasadena. He’s flourished in NIL, too. He’s inked partnerships with Leaf Trading Cards, C.W. URBAN and Mountain America Credit Union since last March. And he signed with Performance Toyota Bountiful, which landed the quarterback a new 2022 Toyota Tundra. He’s thrown for 2,939 yards with a 66.2 completion percentage and 25 touchdowns and just seven interceptions. Rising has added another six scores on the ground, too.
Olu Fashnu
On3 NIL Valuation: $441,000
Position: Offensive Tackle
On3 Impact 300 ranking: No. 38
Back in late November, Olu Fashnu announced he’d be returning to State College for another season. The Penn State starting left tackle had been projected as a first-round pick. But he missed the final four games of the season, and he’s a game-time decision entering the Rose Bowl. The want to finish his college career on a high note played a role. But NIL must have, too. Since announcing his decision, he’s had no trouble finding opportunities. He signed with Pennsylvania-based construction company Inch & Co. As part of the deal, he’s driving around a Tesla now with the company’s logo. And Fashnu also participated in an autograph mixer earlier this week in Los Angeles with teammates.
Braeden Daniels
On3 NIL Valuation: $275,000
Position: Offensive Lineman
On3 Impact 300 ranking: No. 89
In the past two seasons, Braeden Daniels has emerged as one of the top left tackles in the Pac-12. He was voted a first-team All-Pac 12. The former three-star is a major reason why Utah’s offensive line has only allowed nine sacks this season, which ranks sixth in the FBS. With a 6-foot-4, 297-pound frame, NFL scouts project him as a guard at the next level. He’s already accepted an invite to the Senior Bowl, too. But first, one last game with the Utes. Utah is averaging 220.2 yards per game and 5.5 yards per carry in the rushing attack. Penn State is allowing just 212 yards per game in Year 1 under new defensive coordinator Manny Diaz. Winning the trenches will be a priority Monday night.
Abdul Carter
On3 NIL Valuation: $258,000
Position: Linebacker
On3 Impact 300 ranking: No. 142

3 ACC teams in CFP?
Path for ACC outlined
The former four-star recruit did not wait long to introduce himself this season. In his first game as a true freshman, Abdul Carter was hit with a targeting call and ejection. It’s been all up since then. Carter is Penn State’s sacks leader with 6.5. He’s wrecked havoc on opposing offenses, tallying 10.5 tackles for loss with 55 total tackles on the season along with two forced fumbles. Carter has found NIL success, too, scoring a Tesla and signing with the NIL collective Success With Honor. A second-team All-Big Ten selection, he was not the highly-touted prize of Penn State’s 2022 recruiting class. But he’s supplanted himself as a force in the Nittany Lions’ defense. And he’ll have another national stage to perform on Monday.
Nick Singleton
On3 NIL Valuation: $222,000
Position: Running Back
On3 Impact 300 ranking: No. 222
An On3 Consensus five-star recruit and the Gatorade National Player of the Year, Nick Singleton has lived up to the hype in his freshman season at Penn State. His 10 rushing touchdowns this season are the most by a freshman in school history. Named the Big Ten Thompson-Randle El Freshman of the Year, Singleton was named to On3’s True Freshman All-American Team. He’s rushed for 941 yards this year, making a name for himself as one of the top running backs in the Big Ten. Singleton signed a multi-year NIL deal with West Shore Home back in June. And his On3 NIL Valuation continues to increase, thanks to his building social media brand.
About the On3 NIL Valuation
The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets the standard market NIL value for high school and college athletes. A proprietary algorithm, the On3 NIL Valuation calculates an athlete’s NIL value using dynamic data points targeting three primary categories: performance, influence and exposure.
About On3 NIL Valuation, Brand Value, Roster Value
While the algorithm includes deal data, it does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals athletes have completed to date, nor does it set an athlete’s NIL valuation for their entire career.
The On3 NIL Valuation accounts for an athlete’s roster value and brand value. Roster value is the value an athlete has by being a member of his or her team at his or her school, which factors into the role of NIL collectives. Brand value factors in an athlete’s personal brand and the value it could bring to regional and national brands outside of the scope of NIL collectives.
