Los Angeles Chargers expected to hire Georgia Southern defensive coordinator, former USC standout Will Harris
The Los Angeles Chargers are expected to hire Georgia Southern defensive coordinator Will Harris as assistant defensive backs coach, sources tell On3.
Harris, a former standout safety at USC under Pete Carroll, was a DB coach at Washington from 2018 to ’21.
At Washington, Harris coached several standout defensive backs, including Kansas City Chiefs 2022 first-round pick Trent McDuffie, Chicago Bears 2022 second-round selection Kyler Gordon and Tennessee Titans 2021 third-round pick Elijah Molden.
Before Washington, Harris was a defensive backs coach at San Jose State in 2016 and ’17.
He played at USC from 2005 to 2009 and was a starting safety for the Trojans as a senior, posting 69 tackles and four interceptions for Pete Carroll’s final USC team.
