Ole Miss analyst and former Alabama tight end Michael Nysewander is expected to be hired as Rich Rodriguez’s new tight ends coach at Jacksonville State, sources tell On3.

Nysewander worked under Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss the last three seasons after previously working as running backs coach at Samford and as a support staffer under Kiffin at FAU.

As a player, Nysewander was a contributor on Alabama’s 2015 national championship team and helped Derrick Henry run for 2,219 yards on his way to winning the Heisman Trophy.

Jacksonville State is entering its first season at the FBS level as a member of Conference USA. The Gamecocks finished last year 9-2 in their first year under Rodriguez, who was previously a head coach at West Virginia, Michigan and Arizona.

Jacksonville State opens its season against UTEP Aug. 26.
