2025 4-Star LB Tarvos Alford Sets Kentucky Visit, Previews Trip
Tarvos Alford, a class of 2025 four-star linebacker out of Florida, is headed to Kentucky for a visit this summer.
The 6-foot-2, 204-pound linebacker from John Carroll (Port Saint Lucie, FL) told KSR+ that he will be visiting Kentucky on June 11.
“I really just want to see how the environment is and how the coaches vibe with each other,” Alford said. “I want to see how comfortable I am with them. That’s really all.”
That’s shaping up to be a busy weekend for Kentucky football with expected visitors such as 2024 commits Aba Selm, Hayes Johnson, and Cutter Boley, as well as a number of other priority recruits.
“Definitely the success they’ve had recently with linebackers like Josh Allen – that’s really what appeals to me,” Alford said. “When Coach [Mike] Stoops does come to see me, it’s just the conversations we have.”
Alford said he sees himself fitting into the Kentucky defense as either a Mike or Will linebacker.
“I’m really just [looking at] how the coaches speak to me and the conversations we have,” he said.
His Wider Recruitment
Tarvos Alford holds a pretty busy recruitment for a rising junior with Kentucky, Florida, Miami, Ohio State, Tennessee, and Penn State as the main schools involved.
“So far, it’s been great,” Alford said. “It’s good to travel, see different places, and meet people.”
Alford has already taken visits to Florida, Miami, Tennessee, and South Carolina. He said he plans to visit LSU, Kentucky, Ohio State, Florida State, Florida, and Tulane this summer.
“Those are the ones I know for sure right now,” he said.
As for what he’s looking for in a program, Alford said the main thing is the coaching and atmosphere.
“Just a coach that keeps it real with me and a family feel,” he said. “As a coach, I want him to be a family man, so I know he cares for his players more than just as a football player, but as a person.”
Tarvos Alford’s Game
Four-star linebacker Tarvos Alford of John Carroll (FL) is the nation’s No. 106 overall prospect, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. On3 ranks Aford as the No. 74 player overall and the No. 8 linebacker and the No. 14 overall best player in Florida.
“I would describe my game as a downhill linebacker,” Alford said. “See ball, get ball.”
He said his game has improved the most in his ability to read his keys and finish tackles.
“Getting off blocks is the main thing [I’m improving] right now,” Alford said.
