2026 No. 1-Ranked PF Miikka Muurinen Unlikely to Visit Kentucky This Year
2026 four-star forward Miikka Muurinen is in the middle of a busy official visit schedule. However, Kentucky is unlikely to host him anytime soon.
The 6-foot-10, 200-pound power forward from Arizona (AZ) Compass Prep has recently taken official visits to Utah, Michigan, and Arkansas. Muurinen told KSR+ that a Kentucky visit doesn’t currently align with his schedule.
“I’m probably not going to do it this year,” Muurinen said. “I have to be with my team and spend time with them.”
Muurinen is the nation’s No. 11 overall prospect, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. On3 ranks Muurinen as the No. 10 player overall, the No. 1-ranked power forward, and the overall best player in Arizona.
Kentucky Visited with Miikka Muurinen in September
Miikka Muurinen was originally set to visit Kentucky from Sept. 13-15. The visit was canceled since UK was set to host five-star forward Caleb Wilson that weekend.
Despite the visit being canceled, Kentucky still made it known that Muurinen was a priority. UK head coach Mark Pope met with Muurinen on Sept. 6 at his high school.
“We’re going to make something happen,” Muurinen said at the time. “Kentucky is for sure one of my favorites, as of right now.”
Kentucky is pushing hard for a pair of five-star forwards in the 2025 class this fall. Caleb Wilson took his official visit earlier this month and 6-foot-10 power forward Chris Cenac is set to visit from Sept. 27-29.
