Tennessee Transfer Jonas Aidoo Hears From Kentucky's New Staff

Kentucky’s new staff under head coach Mark Pope is getting busy in the transfer portal. This time, UK is reaching out to a top-five prospect.

Tennessee transfer Jonas Aidoo told KSR+ on Friday that he has heard from Kentucky’s new staff since entering the transfer portal. Aidoo is rated as the No. 5 overall transfer in the On3 Transfer Portal Rankings.

The 6-foot-11, 241-pound center declared for the NBA Draft while entering the transfer portal on April 11. He is set to take an official visit to Baylor from April 19-21.

During the 2023-24 season, Aidoo averaged 11.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.8 blocks, and 0.7 steals per game, starting in all 36 games for Tennessee. He shot 51.5 percent from the field and 20 percent from three.

Aidoo played against Kentucky twice during the 2023-24 season. He finished with 11 points on 5-for-13 for the field with 11 rebounds and three blocks in a 103-92 win over the Cats on Feb. 3. Aidoo finished with 11 points on 4-for-11 from the field with eight rebounds and five blocks in an 85-81 loss to Kentucky on March 9.
