Four-star offensive tackle Carde Smith has de-committed from Auburn.

Smith, who attends Williamson High School in Mobile, announced his decision Wednesday on social media. He had been committed to Auburn since April 10.

Smith’s de-commitment comes less than two weeks after he visited Auburn and reaffirmed his commitment.

“(The visit) helped make sure that I made the right decision to come to Auburn,” Smith said. “Just the love around here. You never have to worry about anything. They’ve got your back.

“Oh, I’m locked. Ain’t no switching.”

Smith initially committed to Auburn over Florida State and Mississippi State. USC, however, has made a recent push.

Smith took an official visit to USC June 21-23.

“The USC visit showed me some different things,” he told On3’s USC site, WeAreSC. “[They] made a real hard push for me to be here.”

Auburn’s 2025 class now has 15 total commitments and four offensive linemen: four-star tackle Broderick Shull, three-star interior lineman Tai Buster, three-star tackle Spencer Dowland and four-star tackle Tavaris Dice.

Auburn in top group for 5-star WR

Five-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham on Tuesday announced a top group of schools, and unsurprisingly, Auburn was included.

Cunningham told On3’s Chad Simmons that his top schools are Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, Florida, Ole Miss and Mississippi State.

“These six schools have made me feel at home and I feel comfortable when I am there,” Cunningham told Simmons. “All six schools have things I like, like the coaches, the environment and the people. I like the offenses they run, too.

“Then all six schools are a little different. Each has something different that I like, too. I have visited all six multiple times, I love the energy at each school and I know I can get along with the coaches and fit into each offense. That is why I am focused on Alabama, Auburn, State, Ole Miss, Florida and Tennessee.”

Cunningham took an official visit to four of his top six: Auburn, Alabama, Florida and Tennessee. He listed Auburn his leader after his visit on June 2. He then named Auburn and Florida his co-leaders after a visit to Florida the following weekend. Most recently, he named Alabama his leader following a visit to Tuscaloosa on June 23.
