Former Clemson star Aamir Simms signs with NBA team
CLEMSON — All Aamir Simms has asked for is an opportunity in the NBA.
The former Clemson star is getting one with the New York Knicks.
Simms has signed a free agent deal with the Knicks after going undrafted Thursday night, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Simms was hoping to get drafted but Tweeted early Friday morning that he is: “Right where I’m supposed to be.”
The second-team All-ACC selection averaged 13.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game last year, leading Clemson to a fifth-place finish in the ACC.
Simms was the only player in the ACC to lead his team in points, rebounds and assists last season and was also the first player in Clemson history to accomplish that feat.
